Peppermill

We have eaten at the Peppermill in Vegas many times. It is a real
kick. Something between 1950's diner and Vegas Show room. Definetly excellent people watching and great food. Big portions too. What is nice is that it is not in a hotel and you don't have to park a mile away and walk past a bank slot machines to get a good breakfast.

How are the home fries there? That's how I measure a good breakfast.

The Peppermill has been on my list of places to get to in Vegas for years, but I haven't made it yet. They are supposed to have good lounge entertainment late at night too.

Last trip, we de-planed, got the rental car, and headed straight for the Peppermill---ahhh. Scrambled eggs and bloody Marys. Life is great.

The Peppermill has or had other locations too. My oldest worked at 1 in Fresno before it shut down due to lack of business. She always liked their food and so did I.

Wow. The only Peppermill I know about is no restaurant (although it has one or more of those). It's a full-fledged casino hotel in Reno:

Is this like what you are talking about? I would assume they are part of the same company.

BT, the Peppermill in Las Vegas is a 24 hour coffee shop/cocktail lounge. It's on the east side of the Strip just south of the Riviera. Dates from the 70's and would be considered part of "classic" Vegas.

Here's their Vegas menu and pictures of the place:

The Vegas Peppermill was in a scene with Deniro and Sharon Stone in the movie "Casino."

Haven't been to the hotel in Reno, but the menu for their coffeeshop looks identical at their website, as does the picture of the restaurant's decor.

Before it changed it's name and ownership I used to enjoy visiting the Peppermill in Mesquite, NV The town was a bit quieter then, but the buffet was good and very relaxing after a long ride up from SoCal. We won some bucks there to help offset trip costs. It would make a nice place to stop on the way to the Southern Utah National Parks.
I believe it is called the Oasis now.
