Did you get 100% on your math test? Did you score the winning touchdown? If so, you deserve a reward. Head on down to Tavern On Jane at 31 Eighth Ave in NYC and treat yourself to the most delicious, succulent cheeseburger you've ever eaten. While you enjoy your cheeseburger, Francisco, the friendly waiter will bring you a couple of ice cold cokes. After finishing your burger,Pete the effervescent bartender will flip you a book of matches,so you can enjoy a good cigar. Tavern On Jane, a cheeseburger extraordinaire, Which will satisfy your taste buds until you bite into your next burger. So, keep up the math grades and keep scoring touchdowns!!!!!! If I've got this right, Jane is a cheeseburger loving, cigar smoking pagan, who is expressive of her preferences in life, and can figure out how much the tip should be. ...and likes football. Where can I meet her?

Tex Mooney Inwood Colts No re the 100% on my math tests and no re scoring winning touchdown. BUT, I do adore a well-made cheeseburger and a nice cigar! Yah, the last time I went to Haiti I brought some lovely cigars home. They don't "have" to be from Cuba, and some of the ones made in the Dominican Republic are very nice! Puff Puff We have cheeseburgers on the Weber grill now, and spicy baked beans. Andrea

Love this thread. Despite my QFan handle, I'm also still a firm believer that the quest for the perfect cheeseburger is one of life's great callings. Keep it up! QFan Bonita Springs, FL

I hate when that happens. Believe I've found the perfect cheeseburger. Start with a large burger, melt blue cheese onto the burger while it's still on the grill, then serve with a slice of fresh onion. No condiments. It's not easy to find cheeseburgers served this way, but once in a while the waiter/waitress will accommodate the request.

The Cheeseburgers at Shady Glen in Manchester, CT are among the finest anywhere. I don't recall if I had them med. rare or not, but always enjoyed them tremendously! Check out the review on this place.

"Pete the effervescent bartender will flip you a book of matches,so you can enjoy a good cigar." What happened to the New York smoking ban? Do they simply ignore it?

Philosophy of cheeseburgers. Hhmmm, "I think, therefore I am, a cheeborger". Can't get a good medium rare burger of any kind these days with all the litigation and concerns about bacteria, so you have to make it yourself. Marc4022's version sure sounds good.
