Phoebe Snow died today RIP Tue, 04/26/11 10:03 PM (permalink)
One of my favorites from the 70's Very unique voice and good songwriter. Dropped out of the spotlight to care for her brain damaged daughter. Probably most famous for the song "Poetry Man" but had many others. Here's a link to one of the obits.
Not that it matters but I was surprised to learn she was not black. I had always assumed she was.
RIP Phoebe.

I'll never forget spinning Poetry Man on the turntable for weeks in '75.  Lots of memories.  Terribly sad to hear the news.

I always enjoyed her music. Very sad to see her go so young.

There's a duet, her and Linda Ronstadt from SNL sometime in the '70s. They do "It's in His Kiss" and "The Married Men". You really should listen to "The Married Men". What a great performance.

I got to see Phoebe Snow & Jackson Browne together in Dayton, OH probably in 1975.  I remember everyone in the crowd saying that JB was going to be the next BobDylan.  The concert was quite wonderful but I'd lost touch with PS over the years.  Sad to hear of her dying.
