With baseball season coming up in Phoenix I like to make regular trips for a game at Bank One Ballpark. While the array of food in the ballpark is spectacular I would like to explore the vicininty for Roadfood before and after the games. Whos got the list?

For soul food, go to Lo-Lo's Chicken & Waffles at 10 W. Yuma St. (downtown area). It's very tiny and open only until about 7 p.m., but the food is great. Also there's Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe at 808 E. Jefferson Street.

Just thought of another one, if you want a real Phoenix roadfood-type experience: Fry Bread House, 4140 N. Central Avenue. Fry bread is a Native American flatbread, fried, and often served with honey. It's also available as an "Indian taco" -- folded over and filled with a variety of goopy fillings such as beans, cheese, green chile stew, etc. Or it can be used as a side bread with stew. Pretty bad for you, if you were to eat it every day as part of your regular diet, but very delicious, as a treat. http://www.digitalcity.com/phoenix/dining/venue.adp?sbid=125614
