MSPD-
Nice photos!  I would eat that, although the fact the person dishing out the lutefisk is practically wearing a hazmat suit is a source of concern.

I just ate a terribly sad lunch, made even sadder by looking at all these great photographs.

Thanks for those photos. They will definitely be added to the collection of Wisconsin regional food photos when I get to the "W's" which at the rate I'm going probably won't be for another 3 or 4 years...Seriously I'm really hoping to complete this infographic thread sometime in 2015.

This is an great food report...The lovely cooked oysters, crab cakes and all thoses finger licking ribs. I've been over it twice now & looking forward to more of the states. You take mouth watering pictures. It's a pleasure looking through all the trip reports but this one was spot on for me...Thank you :)

With all the work, photos, etc. put into this topic, it deserves attention and recognition.  Wanderingjew and the others who have contributed photos and info have done a great job with this!   Looking forward to seeing the rest of the states completed.

With all the trips you have made in the last six months or so, did you have any new photos to add?

Hmmm....

Eventually (especially for Ohio and Virginia) , but since I'm back in alphabetical order, New York is next...

Al, that's the beef rib. I watched you devour one a few years back when a group of us all met up with our late great friend Bushie and went to Louie Mueller's for lunch.

And you haven't even gotten to the city yet?  New York might have more regional specialties than any other state.

Why haven't I seen this before? I thought it was a catch-all thread, but I like it as one man's obsession better.

Great work wanderingjew.

I like how you pace your posts. The waits make it even better.

Re:Photos of Regional Food by State 2014/07/16 12:28:19 (permalink)
Add my name to the list of people who somehow missed this thread the first 12 times around. Fantastic! I've just had a vicarious food trip around the USA, including some that I've actually been to.

I've got a lot of pictures of the outsides of places I've been but until very recently did not usually take pictures of the actual food, so it was great to see pictures of memorable food I've had in the past. Highlight memory jog for me was the Stubby's Baked Potato, the Baked Potato against which my wife (then my girlfriend, now wife for 33 years) and I have measured every other baked potato we've had since 1980. No comparison. I've now saved the picture.

Thanks for all of this. More please!
