Haven't been to Suburban House as Lenny's is the place we head to, but in the little burg of Reisterstown there's BBT's Pit Beef & BBQ, he's in a trailer just on the right hand side of 140 across from Harriman House and then head to the Cow for Ice Cream. Also up on MD 30 north of Reisterstown there's a new BBQ place called Virgils that just opened up where Beef Shakes was (BS moved up to the garden center between Arcadia and Hampstead, but it's supposed to be the same owners however) Looking forward to hearing any reviews on Suburban House

Pikesville -- my hometown! Suburban House is an experience. Go for the atmosphere alone. The food...hmm. Not sure it's the place I'd pick. You could try Lenny's, or just go to Gourmet Again on Old Court Road, order a corned beef sandwich, and go eat it in the cemetery across the street.

My son has gone there for lunch with people from work and said that he cannot remember what he had to eat there but that it was fine and that he would go there again.

Ahhh......Pikesville.......where I grew up. Was just at Suburban House, known to locals as the S & H, 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it's just about the last real deli left in Baltimore. Lenny's, Miller's, are self serve cafeteria like, but S&H still has old time waitresses. The place has character (read, a little on the scruffy side) and will be full of characters (read, oldtimers). I always seem to end up with that Baltimore favorite, the Cloak & Dagger. Prices are reasonable and park right across the street, if the back lot is full. Take a couple of coddies home with you from the carry out counter in the back.

If you are in Pikesville/Baltimore, Suburban House is OK. If you are looking for good deli, drive 200 miles north. The Matzoh Ball soup is good. If you order corned beef or pastrami, make sure you ask for it hot, otherwise it is cold right out of the deli case.

Lenny's, Miller's, are self serve cafeteria like, but S&H still has old time waitresses. The place has character (read, a little on the scruffy side) and will be full of characters (read, oldtimers). I was all set today to try Lenny's, instead, but then I: (1) saw the above from this site's valued "Baron of Baltimore" (and who I should've reached out to directly about this matter earlier this week ); (2) and realized that by business today in lovely Pikesville put me less than a quarter mile from Suburban House Deli located at 911 Reisterstown Road (410 / 484-7775). Ordered the hot patrami sandwich on rye and fries and which came with both cole slaw and a full deli pickle. Without question, this site's recent pastrami sandwich photos from Harold's, et. al made today's offering look downright anemic. Still, it was lean and thinly sliced. Such however was a visual ruse to throw you off at how less than tender it was. The garden-style law was very good as was the pickle. The fries: so-so. Based on just this singular and very limited experience (and with the place clearly giving off the vibe that it's better years may be behind it), I'd give the place a.. ...out of ten. That said and if Howard would meet me there in the future, I would surely give the place another shot to, at the very least, revisit this scoring.
