Shoot. I've made a "seafood" pizza before. Smoked herring & oysters, fresh baby scallops, small fresh shrimp, smoked Swiss & Gruyere cheeses, onions, red bell peppers, and a home-made chunky tomato/horseradish sauce concoction. Was rather good, I might add.

And of course since I live in Baltimore, Maryland, you can't forget the Maryland Crab Pizza which you can find at most Egyptian Wood Fire Pizza joints and at some Crab Houses.

One style is made with red sauce, Jumbo lump crabmeat, seasoned with Old Bay, and Mozzarella.

Another style is a white sauce pizza with oven roasted tomatoes, spinach, spices & Jumbo Lump Crabmeat.

I prefer pineapple to Anchovy, and in fact one of the worst pizzas I ever had was Canadian Bacon, Pineapple and Anchovy! This was a tactic pizza, so people wouldn't bum slices off the guy. When I worked delivery for Pizza Hut, a guy would often order Anchovy and Jalapeno pies. Same reasoning, he could eat it, and he knew most people couldn't or wouldn't.

But one of my old faves was Pineapple/Pepperoni and sometimes I would also add green peppers, onion, olive, and fresh sliced tomaoes on top. Done right, it adds an almost Chinese food flavor to Pizza, it really can be good!

But I also like Pepperoni, Bacon (breakfast bacon, don't like ham/canadian bacon on pizza, too bland)Salami, Sausage, just about any meat except chicken (like CB/Ham, just too bland, and not GREASY enough!)and Hamburger, which is too greasy, and never gets done right, it either comes out raw in blobs, or dried up hard pellets.

I saw on the list above of standard Japanese items, and I also have a Dominoes Takeout menu from Japan, and while much of it just sounds wrong (any Seafood, especially Squid and Squid Ink, corn, eggs etc) I have to admit, I think I would enjoy Asparagus on Pizza, and spinach is pretty good too!

Right now I could go for a Pepperoni, Bacon and Olive on half, Pepperoni and Green Pepper, and sliced fresh tomotoes on the other, extra sauce, thin crust, well done, please!

But hey, then again, I think if you're gonna eat it, go ahead and mix squid, and pineapple with BBQ sauce, if thats what you enjoy, and you can have that pie all to yourself, as no one is going to ask for a slice!!! That is truly the nice democratic thing about Pizza, it's up to you what you want on it.

I guess I'm a traditionalist when it comes to pizza, mostly plain or pepperoni although one of my favorites is spinach, chopped tomato, and feta cheese in addition to the regular cheese and tomato sauce. I also like white pizza with garlic, mushrooms, tomato and spinach. I someday want to try a clam apizza when in CT. I have tried unusual pizza's by the slice at Great Northern Pizza here in Rochester, including buffalo chicken pizza, philly steak pizza, and Greek pizza, but the idea of pineapple on a pizza just doesn't interest me.

I'll take a pizza from plain with just cheese all the way to the usual fare on a loaded pizza. Just don't include fish, pineapple, or jalapenos on my pie or I'll spend more time picking stuff off than I will eating it.

It's not that I don't like those items in singular fashion, in fact I do. I just don't want them on my pizza. However, I won't join the puristas and condemn anyone for including those toppings, just like I won't join them in their "no beans in chili" purification rites. Taste is personal and one of those human traits that make us all the more interesting for it.

When my wife gets a craving for Donatos pizza . I usualy get there hawaiian pizza. which has Pineapple, ham, almond slivers, and cinnamon sprinkled on it. it is actually pretty tasty. I saw a page back or so. about wierdest toping. well I guess it isnt that wierd, but a place in Lebanon ohio did a mashpotatoe pizza man was that killer. I still rank it as one of my top 3 pizzas ever ate. Was a reg crust with a good 2 inches of mashpotaotes on top, with bacon and mozarella and chedda cooked on top. man that was good. to bad the place went out of business. I have tried a few times to make myself but havent gotten that close yet. My wife ranks it as one of her worst pizzas, along with the donatos hawaiian go figure lol.

I love pineapple & ham pizza.

As far as my favorite toppings - I'm a meat gal. Give me a pie loaded with various meaty toppings & extra cheese and I will be happy!

Just like the stupid chili argument.....it's just a tad insane to state that a certain topping on a pizza makes it no longer pizza.

To make a good spud pie, you need a deep dish crust with lots of butter on it, mashed potatoes, bacon, onions, and both cheddar and mozzarella cheese! YUM!

Guess you are right.............so pineapple pizza (to me, and in my must humble opinion,) would be quite like having sex with a prostitute.

I had my first taste of "Hawaiian" pizza (ham, bacon, pineapple) this past Sunday. I doubt very much if I'll ever try it again. The cheese/pineapple conflict on my tastebuds was not pleasant. pb

I'm a huge fan of Gyro meat on pizza...barbeque chicken pizza is tasty too.

My boyfriend and I had a lasagna pizza in Boise, ID and that was Delicious!

The weirdest thing I've discovered on a pizza was in Paris. My boyfriend ordered a pizza off a menu and we couldn't really translate what came on it, but we figured out it came with some sort of ham/jambon. Turns out it was pig fat and cream...he claims it was the best pizza he's ever had...

Locally, Arizona pizza places are not very adventurous so the craziest thing you find here is spinach, barbeque chicken and that's about it

I love pineapple on pizza as long as the sauce is BBQ and it's accompanied by Canadian bacon and onions. And, the crust must not be soggy.
Pineapple on pizza is like anchovies --- you either love it or you hate it

Pineapple on pizza does not interest me. The only fruit that should be allowed on a pizza is a tomato. Pineapples are too sweet for pizza and there are millions of other uses.

Yes....in my opinion its the best pizza , esp with lots of ham and salt sprinkled on . Even if here in Jersey it is cosidered a sin in most Italian pizza joints , but I got news for them I lived in Naples Italy for a few years and to be honest I wouldnt feed real Italian pizza to a dog....not that a dog would eat it . As a aside I lived in Japan for a few years and they put some really strange stuff on their pizzas........and I mean really strange .

My favorite pie is a plain tomato cheese. If it's good I need nothing else except maybe a beer and some hot pepper flakes. Around here they give you a deer-in-the-headlights stare waiting for you to add something when you order a "plain" pie. Funny coincidence as Rev. Bucky mentioned above is that I do enjoy anchovie and jalapenos once in a while. Others don't bum any off you and flies don't land on it. Once I asked for anchovies on a pie and the waitress gave out a loud "YUK! Maybe there was something wrong with their anchovies? Pineapple is my last choice.

I guess if you made it in your kitchen at home instead of at Domino's it would be a potato tart. Whatever we called it, it was delicious, and I miss it. (The store in the HQ used to be very adventurous and we even had turkey and dressing on pizza at Thanksgiving!)

Never liked the taste of pineapple cooked, until I had a Caribbean Jerk Pizza at Gio's Brick Oven Pizza in East Granby, CT. It was by far the best pizza I ever had...non-traditional pizza that is. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Its grilled chicken, bbq sauce, carmalized onions, bacon and pineapple. Gio's makes a great pizza!

NO pineapple on pizza....any one who appreciates "real" pizza will probably agree.

No anchovies...simply because something gray & furry should be thrown out, not put on pizza.

Other junk that doesn't belong on pizza. Chicken. Feta cheese. "ranch pizza". Taco gook. Fajita stuff.

Gimme a pizza, with pizza toppings from either NYC, Irvington (NY) pizzaria or Venezias in Arizona.
