Pizza places in Milwaukee

Hey All - Being relatively new to the Milwaukee area, I've seen lots of pizza establishments but don't have the time to investigate each one. Can anyone steer me towards the better ones? I'm talking both thin crust and the deep dish (aka Chicago style) pizzas. -Yumbo

I know about pizza around the East Side... +Zaffiro's (Farwell between Royall & Brady) is legendary for thin-crust pizza in a very non-fancy atmosphere. They don't deliver, but stting at the bar to wait for a pie is part of the experience. They're cheap, too. +Pizza Man (corner of North & Oakland) does great pizza, too. Try the one with artichokes & cream cheese. They deliver. +Palermo Villa (Murray Pl. near North Ave.) does okay, too. Pizza Shuttle & Zayna's aren't great. I still order from them sometimes when I need it cheap, fast and lots of it. I've also heard great things about Maria's on Forest Home somewhere. From the outside it looks grand, with old neon & signage, and friends claim it rivals Zaffiro's for cracker-thin crust and fresh toppings. I'm not a huge fan of deep-dish pizza. I only know the chain places that have it - like Edwardo's and Pizzeria Uno. Good luck! Tell me if you try any of my suggestions.

Everytime I am in Milwaukee, I always get square cut pizza from Marty's on West Bluemound Rd. Super tasty. Dine in or take out and salad available plus other goodies. Phone number 1-262-728-5830 Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I live on the east side and if I buy pizza it is usually from Zaffiro's or Pizza Man (mentioned by jessicazee), but in Hales Corners (on the southwest side of town), the pizza from Ann's Italian Restaurant usually draws raves. I ate there once and liked it a lot. It had a great, in-between thin and thick crust and really nice sauce.

Try Fillipo's on Lincoln. Happened upon them when my Dad was in the hospital down the street. I go there every year when I'm in town. Nothing in my hometown of Monterey, CA. comes even close

We travel to Milwaukee several times a year (usually for baseball games) and if time permits we always stop at one of the Marty's. Even if we're not hungry we get some to take home; I love to warm it in the toaster oven for a weekend breakfast. http://www.foodspot.com/martys/delafield/ Brad O.

We grew up near Martys on Bluemound in Brookfield. It was great, nice thin crust. They didn't over do it with toppings either.
