Sounds like you're going to the festivities at John C. Campbell! We've been there many times, but have never found any decent roadfood in the Murphy area. Shucks, the chow at JCCFS is pretty darn good, and it's paid for! If you find anything interesting, please let me know.

I'd have to agree with GypsyBob there. I had friends living in Murphy for a while and there wasn't much to be had anywhere near. Good thing they were great cooks! You might try Franklin, though it's a long drive.

The Fall Festival was great, found lots of things that my heart desired but my teacher's salary declined, but had a great day...weird though since I had not been there since 1977 when I left the area after college graduation..anyway, typical food, expensive for festival fare, had some tasty small pancakes with syrups, a good eggroll, some apple cider, then decided to not look for a roadfood place. Enjoyed my scenic trip home, then went and ate some chinese food..thanks for the comments.....Laurie

It's 40 miles or so, but if you have the time, a meal at the Dillard House, in Dillard Ga., would be worth the drive.
