For those of you who are wondering, I originally posted looking for a thread from they guy who started Planet Pizza in middle Tennessee a few months back. I'd searched and searched to no avail, but as luck would have it, as soon as I posted about what I was looking for, I found it. I just wanted to tell him that I checked out his place and found it top notch.

There is a Planet Pizza here in Plano, TX. It is a little kid’s party place, sort of a smaller scale Chuck E. Cheese's.

Google the name Planet Pizza and you'll find it in use in several places around the country, along with several more Pizza Planets. My guess is that the name has probably never been nationally trademarked, or if it has the trademark owner isn't very diligent about policing it's use. As long as the respective markets don't overlap, there shouldn't be a problem.

Feel free to email me at thepassionofthecrust@yahoo.com I emailed you directly through this forum once I found the original post and got your screename, but I don't know if you ever got it. My wife and I were in there near closing time, Monday before last. I didn't meet anyone who looked like they might be the owner. All I saw looked like teenagers. But the place was spotless, and it looked like the cleaing never stopped (My compliments to your young crew). I feel I could have safely eaten off the restroom floor. My wife and I each had an individual size pizza (a Mediterranean and a Classico) which we both shared, and then got a Hill Billy Deluxe to go(who would have thought that bologna and fried pickle chips on a pizza would work so well?). All were delicious, especially the crust. We'll be back next time we're anywhere near Columbia. You can count on it.

The name came from my mom actually as she used to play poker online at a place called planet poker. There are a few sprinkled through out the world...but we are not afilitaed with any of them.

The Classico is a great pie, the Mediteranian as well. The HillBilly Deluxe was a joke, but is actually quite popular by now. Did you read my posters? Thanks for the kind words!!!

I was there that day...Turns out my only night off I had someone call in on me. I kind of remember the order as I made every pizza that night. I don't know what you mean by "Owner type", I am not a big fat Italian guy with a chefs hat on. I am 32 year old white guy. I wish I could of met you.

In your Email you mentioned lack of Coziness... We designed it as a DELCO, with a few tables. Turns out we can seat 18. If you recall the big open space in the parking lot, that is the future Planet Pizza. We are considering greatly, building a freestanding building right there. We will have a full dining room, "Plant kids" game area, wine beer...the whole nine. You also mentioned lack of fountain drinks. We do not have the room at the present time...but will soon.

Not tying to stereotype you or anything. I meant most all employees I saw looked too young to be an owner (teenagers or early 20's maybe). I did spot one slightly older guy back in the kitchen briefly, but then didn't see him again. I guess that may have been you. Also, I didn't mean "lack of coziness" in a negative way. Your place looks fantastic and very professional - almost chain-like (which I guess some might equate with less cozy). I'm sure that's exactly what you were going for, and it's Top-notch all the way. Again, your pies were absolutely delicious. We'll definitely drop by again and sample some more next time we're near.

When you say almost chain like, thats kind of what we were going for. Before we opened I was standing in line at Subway with my partner and we heard two girls talking... "Did you here we are finally getting a Planet Pizza in Columbia?!?" We want that cookie cutter look, but make sure EVERYONE knows we are privately locally owned and operated. In fact we are here to "Break the CHAIN of pizza mediocrity"
