I used to frequent the Po Folks on rt29 in Fairfax, Va., long since closed. I've forgotten the exact night, but they had an all you can eat catfish night, you could get filets or on the bone, always good. I remember the sweet tea was excellent also, as well as the green beans "Be careful you might find a speck of ham in our beans".....LOL I always enjoyed a trip to Po Folks, the little game on the table was always fun, jumping the horse-shoe nails over one another trying to leave only one on the board.....

We still have some of them here in the Atlanta area, but they really seemed to change for the worse when they dropped the "Po" from the name and started going by "Folks". Smaller portions, higher prices, not as good quality of food, etc. Back when they, as well as we, were still "Po" they were one of our favorite places to eat.

While they are the same concept it is different management. PoFolks is still alive and kicking in Florida.

Now, was/is Po Folks the place that served tea in mason jars? I've been racking my brain trying to remember where the Po Folks was in Baltimore.

There was a PoFolks on Rt 2 (Gov Ritchie Hwy) south in Glen Burnie,in front of where the Sears store used to be.There is a Lowes there now.I figure they closed in the early 90s. I dont remember them having drinks in mason jars there, but they did do so at a place called Italian Oven, also on Rt 2 south but in Park Plaza at Severna Park.I think the restaurant in that location now is called Woodfire, they kept the wood burning oven that was installed for Italian Oven.
