Pocket Burgers - IN-A-TUB Sat, 01/27/07 6:22 PM (permalink)
Today we had deep fried tacos and a pocket burger from IN-A-TUB in Kansas City. It's a locally owned place over 40 years old. A pocket burger resembles a Nu Way, but has a taste all it's own.

This is a large pocket burger. There seemed to be about 1 cup of meat at least. The fries were quite tasty.

A large pocket burger is $2.29, the fries were $1.65 and more than enough for 2 people. It was an enjoyable lunch with 2 deep fried taco.

Yeah, kinda like a Maid-Rite, huh? What kinda flavoring did the meat have? Is it the same as they use in the tacos?

You have a problem with loose meat?

The meat didn't taste the same as in the tacos. The pocket burger had pickles, onions and a little mustard. The tacos had none of that going on.

That looks pretty good! A mirid of condiments and toppings would allow an infinite variaty. Ive never had a "loose meat" but a LUBI is pretty close, basically browned ground beef in a torpedo (long) roll

The fries don't look very fresh to me, looks like they were frozen.

I'd be surprised if the fries were not frozen. Frozen fries can be very good if they're fried properly, and these certainly were. They were quite tasty.

A loosemeat with pickles, onion, and mustard and some fries.
