Pomegranite juice

This stuff is supposed to do wonders, and taste good, anyone try it? It's supposed to lower blood pressure pretty quick, and many other things good heartwise, although constipation seems to be a small problem with it.

It is delicious.  A good mixer with dark rum or vodka, also.

My 8 year old and I both love the Naked Juice brand pomegrante and blueberry juice.  I love to drink it "straight".  He likes to drink it, but I also make popsicles out of it that he loves.

It's incredibly good for you, and I've tried so hard to get used to it, but I just can't stand the taste.

I've tried all kinds of pomegranate juice blends, yet I just can't get it past my tongue.  I've never tasted anything so offensively sour.

Perhaps it's like cilantro.  You either love it or hate it.

For the person who doesn't like the taste, I sometimes cut mine with seltzer. What I like to do is take the pomegranate blueberry juice & mix it with Clearly Canadian (when I can find it) Blackberry flavor. Or just straight pomegranate juice + raspberry seltzer. YUM.

Why would anyone be willing to spend all that time plucking out the seeds and squeezing them?

You can squeeze them with an orange lever/press type juicer.

Pomegranate juice is an amazingly healthy and good for you food. I used to buy the concentrated juice at Costco. Now they sell a concentrated gel tab form of this amazing fruit and I take 3 a day. Same healthy benefit at much lower cost.

Michael, you're such a curmudgeon. You don't pluck the seeds. You cut the damn thing in half and squeeze out the juice in a orange juicer.

I buy the quart size bottle of oncentrate at Sam's ($18 per bottle) and throw back a shot glass portion every morning. Taste? With just one shot, who cares.

My wife plucks out the seeds and serves them in a bowl that my family eats with a spoon. They love it and I'm indifferent to it.

I love both the Pom seeds and the juice.  I frequently mix the juice with some 7-Up or seltzer water.  It also takes a splash of Captin Morgan pretty well too!

    wicked?
    been to Boston lately Ann?

I'm with you, though. I've done a similar thing with our pomegranate and blueberry juice. Was really nice.

I love the stuff. My wife's been drinking pomegranate juice for a long time - before it was vogue, and when it was expensive. Today, the juice is more affordable...that, or everything else has gotten just as expensive. In either case, I love the stuff. Being a huge blueberry fan myself, I love the pomegranate-blueberry juice the best.

In our house, the juice bottles (a wide variety of 100% juices - from 100% cranberry, which is tart as hell, to pomegranate, to regular old orange) are finally out numbering my diet coke bottles - that's a good thing. We've even buy frozen fruit and make smoothies with fruit and fruit juice for desserts- no addded sugar, nothing artificial, just 100% fruit. Jack LaLanne would be proud!

I love Pomagrante. To me it tastes like a stronger version of grape juice. There is a difference in taste, though, depending on what brand you buy. I like Pom, sold in the refrigerated section @ the store. I also love Rockstar pom. flavor but my husband hates it and says it tastes like medicine. It must be one of those foods you love or hate. I haven't tried just eating the seeds but hope to once I see them in the store.

Don't forget to read my post in this thread. You can buy the gel caps at Costco (and, probably Sam's as well) and just pop a few each day to get the desired benefit.
