We had a few of these in the early '80's. Known for the great pies but offered a lunch/dinner menu. Anyone remember them?

Billdog, the Poppin' Fresh chain still exists, only now it's known as Bakers Square. The chain was started by Pillsbury in the ( I think ) 1970s, and was named after their iconic "spokesman" Poppin' Fresh, the Pillsbury Doughboy. If I remember correctly, it was in the '90s that Pillsbury sold the operation to Vicorp ( the Village Inn people ), who changed the name to Bakers Square. Recently, a number of their Chicago area locations have closed; I don't know if this also applies to other regions.

They closed all of their stores here in the Metro-Detroit area recently as well! I had one just up the street from me. Already missing their Lemon Supreme Pie!

The Bakers Square here in Lansing is still in business, I'm happy to say. While I've never been a big fan of their food, I do love that French Silk pie.
