Post Pictures on Roadfood

I was going to post pictures of a Stew I was making, but, for some reason it always takes forever to post pictures. On other sites it takes me minutes, on this site it takes me an hour. I think the people who own this site must think people come here to see the prefab food advertising. I wonder if they have any clue at all what makes this site tick. For now on I'll post my pictures on other food sites and post a link to that site when I post here. This is the only site I have seen that makes you pay to post pictures easier. On other sites I post right from my computer, no here. On other sites I could copy and paste, not here............see ya in the hallways....................pnwc

I think the big difference between this and others is that this site does not store your photos and requires you to link to somewhere that does. I agree it would be nice if it did, but that requires big servers, bigger $$$, and a lot of work. So, to post here you have to host your pictures somewhere on the web. Once you do that the whole process is a seconds long copy and paste of the link.

That's a good looking burger and piece of pork belly, but they really shot the moon on those 5-6 french fries.

Tony, I have my pictures on Photobucket, when I go get my pictures, the site acts like I don't have enough storage and its slower than hell. I start posting and wind up loosing all my posting. Like I said it just takes to much time when I try to post from Photobucket. When I post on other sites its a breeze. I enjoy this site and have a lot of people I like talking with, I just won't post pictures here.

Peter Lugers has some great fries to go right along with the burger and think cut bacon..........nice picture, it looks like its twin on the other side of the table.......thx for responding.......................Bill

Photobucket just changed formats and it's horribly slow.

    The old way worked perfectly.

You may want to try using picasa and google web albums...which I think is now called something else. For a free program picasa is good at keeping photos organized on your computer, and if you load your photos on their web service at a reduced size...which is fine for posting on roadfood or similar sites...their free storage is fairly generous and very easy to use. You can then right click on any picture you see in the web album and dump that url into a post here using the little "insert/edit image" command.

I know it is always a pain to use another site when you have been committed to another, like photobucket, but you may like it if you try it.

It was actually just the right amount to accompany that burger, but they do have a bit of nerve charging $4 extra for them!

This isn't the only site where PB's "improvements" are being discussed.

For those who haven't visited the PB site for a couple of days, the paging feature has been restored and it makes a big difference when working with larger albums.  However, the 1-click link copy is still missing.

    Hi pnwchef,
I use Photobucket and seem to have no problems. The "direct link" is what I use and I really like the 1-click link. I just checked and the 1-click link is working.

It took me about 20 seconds to do this pic from Photobucket. Try it again, maybe it will work better for you.

Can't understand why we can't upload directly to this newly upgraded, hi-tech site.  After all, we were told the recent upgrade was the best thing since sliced bacon.

Also, I believe it would benefit the site if the pictures stay whenever a person leaves the site.  If the powerful search feature was working, I would dig up some examples of threads with disrupted pictures.

You can always become a Roadfood insider for only $19.95 and then you can upload your photos directly to the site.

It also helps keep the site up and running
