Normally the tabs that pop up for pages have the title on them. Now All I'm getting is this:

 Powered by APG vNext Trial

Something new in the software? It's only happening here at RF. All other sites are normal. The same phrase is also appearing on the page after the page numbers.

Root Beer - I noticed that too.  Starting Sunday I wasnt on here Saturday.

Stephen - I also noticed that when you do a string of smilies sometimes there are smilies and sometime there are symbols after the smilies.

I've given up using Roadfood.com on my iPad, so when I start traveling in our new RV again you'll see even less participation from me. With Safari on the Mac it has been a pain in the butt. I thought after 30 years of being online I was pretty astute, but this software just doesn't have any logic.

I bi-passed the mobile versions by logging in to Safari on my Ipad, going to www.Roadfood.com and bookmarking it the old fashion way.

Works like a charm.

I'm on AOL, I come into the site ok. When I click on the topic ( Lets use the NFL topic as an example ) when I click on it, it just shows a pop-up ad at the top of the page, the rest of the page is blank. When I get off AOL and use internet explorer it works fine..........Whats up with my AOL ???????????

I have that issue on and off frequently. Can't find a cause. I flush the cache and cookies and that helps for a little while but soon returns... I too use aol and I am still on windows VISTA. I can't see most of the flash driven video anymore... and Vista can't handlethe Adobe upgrades above 8 so I plug along half blind on the site.

Can youtube videos still be embedded?

I couldn't embed one in my 'fake samoas' thread, could only add a link.  I pasted a previously embedded video into that thread and it did embed, then I cancelled.

I deleted the 'S' in https in the full url, but that didn't matter.

Re: Cannot see new posts on CIn / NKY 2015/05/01 11:22:35
I'm again having the problem where when I'm logged in, I can't see any new posts (including my own) on the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky thread. The last thing I see is Bonk's post on page 112 from five days ago.

I log out, and see the newer posts just fine. But of course, I can't reply with a quote if I don't see them when logged in as myself.

This happens from time to time. Same in every browser, on every device. Flushing cache / cookies does NOT help.

Update: Any movement on this? This is the thread I'm on most of the time, and to not be able to see / reply makes it kind of difficult to contribute.

They asked me questions when I signed up.  Did I eat muktuk?  Did I eat seal?  Did I know JoeRogo?  What about chitowndiner?  Did I eat fast food?  I answered "NO" to all the above.  They let me in.

Rather than just deleting the spam, why don't you look for a solution that blocks it in the first place?  I know of no other forums that have the problem with spam that seems to plague this site.

Correct me if I'm wrong......Hey, there's a first time for everything.  All this spam can be eliminated by blocking the IP addresses from Asia.  But, that would also mean less clicks on the site, which means less ad dollars.  So, why not just let the Mod's handle it!

Gotta agree, Joe. I know that we will be in for another round of spam soon-nancywatson posted all over the board today. I just really think this needs to be solved somehow- the danger of not finding a solution will result in a lot less "clicks" from people that actually participate on this site.

Re: sell cvv good 2015/05/08 10:24:21
I'm a member of another site that picked 6 (trusted) people to delete spam or unwanted posts. They gave them the capabilities to act fast before things go out of hand. We should have a few trusted people on this site that wouldn't abuse this appointed position. There are a lot of members that look to better this site. The more eyes on this site would help control the amount of spam and how long it stays on this site. The longer it stays, the more it will happen. The people on the other site were called "Spambusters", they explained why the post was being deleted and clicked on a eraser button to delete the post. If the Spambuster is abusing his/her position it would show up to the administrator real fast. Sometimes it takes a lot of traps to get rid of a few rats. If you don't have the traps in the right places, the rats win..........pnwc

At some sites I visit there are measures in place where you can't post quickly one after another.  There needs to be a short amount of time before your next post.  It can be annoying to someone with something to say but it stops the autobots that post some spam.

It's usually not a person doing the major spamming.

There's a big step between what the two Mods can do (react) and what the admins can do (take preventitive action) At this point we are playing catch up each day...and not doing too well some days. I would support expanding the possee to keep the forums clear 3 or 4 people could make a big difference in the speed at which we catch the spammers...and the quicker we flush them off the better the place is.

If any of you would like to volunteer, send a PM to Stephen Rushmore and maybe we can get some deputies working the site.
