It was the first pic I came across on Photobucket.  The burger picture is from Holly Eats report on Dilly's Corner.  It is one of my favorite burgers.

Another photo service to try is Google.  They have a drag & drop interface that makes quickly adding an image very easy.  As long as you already have a Google account just select more from the internal menu bar:

then choose Photos on the drop down:

from there select upload pictures and follow the instructions.

PS.  I was trying to insert some images I found on the web earlier today, but the forum would only display in the preview photos from my Google acct., not from elsewhere on the web.  I'm guessing this is to avoid copyright issues?  Just curious.
Ended up copying the web image and inserting into my google photos.

To RESIZE photo's using WINDOWS, every copy of Windows has built in MS-PAINT...

Click  START > PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > PAINT

Navigate to the image you want to resize and load it, then click on IMAGE, then Stretch / Skew ...  the value boxes are at 100% and the first one is already highlighted...what I usually do is simply key in:  25   TAB   25   ENTER   and this will produce a picture 25% the original size...

For my Canon pocket camera I start with 25%, and for my Canon SLR I start at 20%...

Ok I am missing some step.  When you hit the new insert/edit button do you need to put the img there then the URL then img again? In the box?

Davydd,
Do you put [img][/img] in the message or in the popup for image URL?  I have tried it both ways.  Using html, url, bbc code with no luck.  Using the html code I actually see a picture then go to post and picture disappears leaving the img/img.

Thanks Davydd.  I actually did it.  I will try to put up instructions for later from iphone to Roadfood.com for Acer.  It is in total about 4 steps.   I was making it harder then it actually was.
Thanks for your help.  I really appreciate it.

You were embedding a reference for the page the photo was on and not the photo itself. Flickr makes it difficult to extract the photo. That's why I prefer Photobucket for ease of use. I was able to grab the photo you wanted to show by copying the Share > Grab HTML/BBC code and then copying, pasting and editing it down to just the IMG tags. A photo has to be between the IMG tags and the link itself has to end in .jpg.

I have had more than a few conversations with fellow members about why there is significantly less activity on the discussion boards here. Every time I see this thread, it makes me wonder if this isn't one of the primary reasons?

Posting pictures here is an absolute hassle. Posting pictures other places is easy. For Facebook, it is essentially one click; Twitter the same. I won't get into the ease of using other sites mobile applications (Yelp, UrbanSpoon, Google+/Maps), but rather focus on the posting of pictures.

It wasn't that long ago when people were embarrassed to be seen taking pictures of their food. It was for freaks. Wanderingjew still thinks so, but I digress. Now, there are places that actively encourage people to take photos - and, naturally, share them online with their friends and followers. In addition to Facebook and Twitter, there are entire sites devoted to the positing of food pictures (i.e. Foodspotting). While roadfood.com was one of the places that may have incubated the idea that taking pictures of food should not be verboten, technology has passed this site by....by a lot....and quickly.

In the time it took me to do this, I might have been able to get myself logged in to rf.com's mobile site and found the appropriate forum into which I should have posted. Forget that I would have had to upload the same photo to another host site, type the post and link back to the original photo - all while using a keyboard that is not that easy to use.

I'm not trying to start any trouble or stir up any debate - but, as a long-time user of this site, my time here has dwindled considerably, and this is absolutely one of the reasons why.

TTM,
I agree that it is not easy to upload photos. Two years ago, I had a fabulous trip, that I intended to do a trip report about. When I decided to get the trip report together, I was using Photobucket, and at the time, I had major issues. I couldn't access my account, and couldn't post the photos to Roadfood. I got tremendously frustrated, and since then, I have not posted anything significant.

I did not want to stop posting here. I love this site!!!!     But, it just became very hard to post pictures.

I post on Facebook, where it is not appreciated, the way it is here.

I agree that if it was easier to post my photos, I may do more trip reports.

I am not "dissing" Roadfood, at all. I LOVE IT!!!! Just saying...

I can't believe I'm doing this......but I actually have to agree with The Little Fella.  I resisted facebook for many a year.  I considered it a pain in the butt.  But, it is actually very easy to use AND control.

Every time RF had a "major" upgrade, it became less user friendly.

I'm in the middle of a two month road food trip on a the Alaska Highway and Alaska. Even though I probably know more ins and outs of most on posting photos. It really is no longer easy comparatively to post here than on Facebook or Twitter. I have pretty much given in to using my iPhone with direct one click posting. I still use my two digital cameras but those photos won't be dealt with digitally until September. By then with Facebook and Twitter immediacy those photos will be old news.
