Prayer Request PLEASE

i would like to ask your help with some prayers that my sister and i desparately need right now. on jan 10 my mother suffered a massive stroke. it left her paralyzed on the right side and until monday (1/15) we didn't know how badly it had effected her brain. well- on monday we found out from the neurologist that the stroke caused MASSIVE damage to her brain and that there was basically little to NO chance of recovery. my sister and i made the decision to bring her up to my sisters house (in northern jersey) and let her stay there to --- rest... hospice has someone coming in on a daily basis and they told my sister that although they can't give a definite time frame- they thought maybe one week, maybe two or three. we don't know. her brain is basically not working and she's not responding to anything but she's got a strong heart.
i would just like to ask that you keep my sister and my self in your thoughts to help us get through this difficult time and pray for a peaceful 'journey' for my mom - one with no more suffering.

Has anyone had any updates from JerseyGirl?

sorry there's been no update- i've been busy with kids and school functions/baseball clinics/concerts and basketball.

i want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers- it means a BUNCH to me.
the only update i have since i last wrote is that mom is resting comfortably and carole (my sister) is doing every thing that she can to make her comfortable. the hospice nurse seemed to think that it wouldn't be a long process due to the fact that she can't 'cough up the junk' and it's starting to aspirate in to the lungs. i only hope and pray that she go peacefully with no more suffering or pain. she's seen enough in her life and certainly does NOT need any more.

I thank you for your thoughts and prayers-- even though we've never met in person i feel as though i know so many of you through here and feel a certain connection to you, almost like a second family.

Dear Jersey Girl,
You, your sister, and your mom are in my thoughts. My mother died at age 88 simply by going to sleep and not waking up; I guess her Aunt Helen (who had just passed) came for her.
Here are some hugs as you need them (enclosure). You may well also want to give your mom's hand an extra squeeze from me.
I'll check back here tomorrow to see how everything progresses.

first i'd like to say that what ChiTownDiner said is true--"we're all in love with a jersey girl" that's only cause they are the best!!

ok- sadly my mom passed away early friday (1/26) morning. my sister was with her and gave her hand that squeeze from me (since they are in new jersey and i'm in indiana it was a little hard for me to do myself). she went peacefully and without pain. she's now in a much MUCH better place and with all the loved ones that have gone before her- and i truly believe that they are all together and smiling like crazy...:) and i also know that i just gained one more guardian angel - and i know that she'll always take care of me (afterall- isn't that what mom's do??)

i would like to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers through the last few weeks and also to let you know that i truly appreciated all the words of encouragement. she was 89 years old and lived each and every minute of those 89 yrs.. she was an amazing woman and she'll forever live in the hearts of those that knew her.

thank you again and as i get ready to head to jersey (through cincy) my final word (after the sincere thanks) would have to be GOOOOOOOOOOOOO COLTS!!!!!!!! :)

Hello Jerseygirl,
I mourn with you. It is hard to lose a parent. I am still missing my father after 7 years.
It may seem so strange now, but she is at rest and you, too, can find some rest.
I think you know this, but sometimes memories, associations pop up and haunt us.
You and your sister were very loving and wise when your mother needed you to be. I pray my children
will be like you.
I also rejoice with you that your mother is in a better and challenging place, with all the loved ones
that have gone before her. I have no doubt that my father will meet her at some point.
I have been talking with my 83 yr. old mother, and while she loves this life, she is not
afraid and is ready for a new existence and renewing.
We who remain feel loss, but there is a glory for those who go before us.
I hope I don't sound stupid. I truly believe it. And if my belief can be a comfort,
then recieve it.
