One of the Alternative forms of the Supermarket...The Warehouse store has not been mentioned, but both Sam's Club and Costco are more nationally diverse than most of the named Market Chains listed so far. In both cases the food stocks make up a portion of the overall product inventory of the stores, but they do operate Coast to Coast under the same corporate management . None of the Traditional Supermarket chains (Kroger/Ralphs or Safeway/Vons, for example) can claim full national coverage under one label.

I'm not the only one who gets shocked!!! I've complained to the store, I've complained to the city because I think it's hazardous. I still get shocked. It's weird. It doesn't even have to be metal for the shock. I'm also a wuss and I go around tapping things with my fingers, looking like some sort of a crazy person. Although I like Gelson's meat and produce I'll go somewhere else because of this shocking problem. Around here there is also Albertson's. I don't shop there unless I'm looking for something out of the ordinary. I hardly ever find it, but I have to give it a go. The trouble with Albertson's is that their aisles are set up all wonky. Nothing is where it's supposed to be. That reason alone makes me shop elsewhere.

Baah Ben Fresh Market..OUTSTANDING...$$$ though. When you want something special! My absolute favorite supermarket. I love the Fresh Market store here in Richmond. I like it better than Whole Foods, and the prices are generally better than WF. I love Trader Joes of course, especially a few of their items I am nearly addicted to. Wegmans is not yet close enough to me to shop much, but they just opened one in Fredericksburg; it is a bit of a drive from where we live but we will probably go there a few times a year anyhow since their cocmbination of service selection and prices are hard to beat.

Thank you David, I did not know that. But I think I would still prefer a Super Target. They always seemed cleaner and more organized, somehow. There are three super Walmarts in York County and there has been talk about building two more. How about some variety? There are two Targets here, and I hope they do expand their food offerings. It looks like they have been trying, to a very small extent. But not enough to warrant a regular grocery shopping trip. There are also a Sam's and a BJs. I've been to Sam's once or twice to look. Company I work for gives out day passes every now and then. I never joined because I figured it was useless for a single person. Have never been to BJs, even though some people I know prefer them to Sam's. The nearest Costco's are in Lancaster and Harrisburg, either some thirty miles to the north or east.
