Price of hamburger and fries ...

I was wondering what everybody charges for a hamburger and fries ... I saw Al's Place - Locke, CA charged $8.00. Considering a combo at a drive-thru cost around $6.00, that's not too bad. I use to love hamburgers at Western Sizzler .. they were steak burgers. Also, do you serve 80/20 hamburger or do you use ground steak? thanks

I think what you can get for a burger fry combo depends on your area, competition, how good yours is compared to everyone else, what I can get 5-6 bucks for you may be able to get 7-8, or 3-5 for to many variables.

Depends on size and quality of the burger and type of FF, I serve homemade twice fried FF and a !/2 lb hand pattied, 80-20 locally raised and ground burger. Our Cheeseburger with FF or any of our sides, $7.49...That's going up soon, it's a low price as is!

Mamie thanks .. my original response got lost in cyberspace Not really! .. You need to look at your local competition's prices & service. They are the only ones that count. You have to meet the going rate for the product or convince your customers your food is special and worth the extra $$. What members on the forum charge doesn't effect your sales.

BillyB CTW, the fries are cheap, how much higher can you go, it's still only ground beef on a bun................... Billy, anywhere you go your going to spend at least $2.00-$3.00 for an oder of my kind of fries. The burger is $2.50 a lb, my cost...Take the $7.49, less 2.00 for fries, 5.49 for a burger like mine is cheap. A few weeks ago I paid over 10.00 at Hamburger Hamlet in Bethesda, Md. For a burger and pre frozen fries. Forgetable burger and fries, the place was full.

- my 'puter had malfunctioned and my post disappeared $7.49 for a 1/2lb burger and fries was cheap IMO but I could never eat a burger that big, even a 1/4lb burger is big to me. People go through the drive-thru everyday and pay a lot for a bag lunch to eat in the car. I want cheap fastfood, but if I want good food, I'll go to a restaurant. As compared to others, I planned on mine being the "best" burger this side of town :) y'all got me to thinking about hamburgers and sandwiches. I can't remember right off who suggested that I set prices for a lunch special and use other items as an upsell - a fantastic burger served with home fries, or soup and a sandwich reasonably priced would bring in customers. That's a better idea than having specials too cheap. y'all don't include drinks in that do ya?

I think it's all about the preparation/presentation - while some burgers could be worth $10, others might not be worth a plug nickle ... I've had cheap burgers and I've had gourmet burgers and there's no comparison between the 2

Aside from hot dogs they are my number 1 seller that's a lot of meat and drink! I can't imagine anybody having to refill a 24oz drink. I think that's still less than a chain, but there's no comparison between a handmade burger and a frozen patty

when I am up and running with the mobile truck. I am going to do fresh cut fries with a salt/pepper & old bay seasoning pre & after fried. I will only cut per order, thus no waste & the spuds will last longer. As far as burgers go, I'm not sure yet how I am going to do them. I will do them fresh without a doubt but not yet sure of the size, no matter what I serve it's going to be either too big or too small. I get that now with my hot dogs. " Don't you sell anything smaller " NO that's why it says 1/4 & ft longs. If you wanted a smaller dog, there's a 711 behind me. what do you mean $4 for a hot dog. Yea $4 its a 1/4 & nathans. 711 sells them 2 for 2.. Well they are right behind me, Can I offer you a can of soda for your walk over there ?

seems like no matter what you do, there's always unhappy people. we use to have a hot dog place around the corner from where I worked ... those were the best hot dogs - at the time they weren't cheap and they were a real treat. I liked 'em with sauerkraut, chili and melted cheese.

WD, Most people cut the fries and soak over night, blanch the fries at 300 degrees for 5 minutes, then crisp at 350 to 375 degrees. Pre salting isn't good for the oil either..........take care.................Bill

Well they are right behind me, Can I offer you a can of soda for your walk over there ? We occasionally get gripes about price, with the 7-11 or WaWa reference. Me and my team then explain why our hot dog is better and worth the money. Then maybe even offer a sample. We've won over many people, and the ones who don't think it's worth it can go to 7-11 and whine about the hot dogs over there. We do 8/1 Sabretts or Thumann's natural casing. Haven't ventured into the 4/1 jumbo dogs yet. 4 bucks for a 1/4 pound Nathans seems reasonable. That's a lot of food!

1/2 pound cheeseburger, Fries, and Soda (24 ounce cup with free refills) $5.99 Keep in mind I'm in middle America, 5,000 population town with about 20 other places that sell food to the population. It use to be $4.99... but that was killing me. $5.99 still beats the rest of the town.

I went through the drive-thru at Hardees the other day, and they had a burger/fries/drink for $7.19 .. I got a burger on Texas toast, no fries and no drink and it was really good, I've never had one from there before.
