Where should I eat? Heading there tomorrow on short notice for a few days of work. Any cuisine is recommended, BBQ, Chinese & Italian are preferred. 10-15 mile radius, 20 for BBQ. Thanks! John in Boston

i don't know if it's still open-- but if you are looking for something sweet-- there used to be an ice cream shop- right in princeton called "thomas sweets" THE BEST home made ice cream i had in my 5 yrs of college there!! ( i went to rider -- right down the street-- not princeton but we frequented princeton - especially on a 'sweet run') they also had an awesome variety of things to 'blend in ' to the ice cream too! enjoy and let me know if you make it there.. :)

I realize I'm really late to this thread, but don't forget about Halo Pub. It's another ice cream place, but it specializes in sundaes, whereas Thomas Sweet has it's famous blend-ins.

Sorry I didn't see this in time for your trip. I'll reply anyway in case someone is searching the forum on Princeton. BBQ - Forget it. You're still too far north. Chinese - Not worth your trouble in this neighborhood. If you must, drive north on Route 1 toward Edison, NJ. No specific recommendations but you will find lots of choices and much better Chinese food owing to the larger Chinese population. Italian - Conte's Pizza on Witherspoon St. Marsilio's or Diamond's in the Chambersburg neighborhood of nearby Trenton, NJ. Also in Trenton, Delorenzo's Tomato Pies is an absolute must! Mexican - Tortuga's Mexican Village on Leigh Ave. near the hospital. Heroes/Hoagies - Hoagie Haven on Nassau Street is an institution. Better IMO is George's Ribs and Roasters up the street. Greek - Zorba's, also on Nassau Street. Thomas Sweets and the Halo -- both mentioned earlier -- are still around and are both very good.

Indian-Palace of Asia on Quakerbridge Rd.about a mile and a half east of the mall. There is a classic drive-in Stewarts Root Beer with car hop service on Business Rte 1 in Lawrenceville.
