I, too, am a Mayor Al fan. It's nice to see him appreciated in another venue.

This is good stuff! There's no one else like Al and he's loved by many - including me.

The Mayor deserves every bit of praise that you can give him, and much more.  Thank you, mvanpatten, for doing a feature series about him.

Congratulations to the Mayor!  I'm glad to have a face to put with all the fascinating and entertaining posts I've been reading over the years.

Oh no...now he'll never get to the moderator's meetings on time with all the groupies and autograph seekers. Fame sure is a double edged sword!

Or he'll walk in the room with his hands up 'please, no paparazzi'--congrats Mayor.

I hope you are prepared to sign autographs the next time you visit west tn. You do a great job and we appreciate it.

Congrats on your rise to stardom.  I can say I knew him when.

Demi and Duff are now not the only stars of the family.

Thank you, My Friends, for all your kind words...and a special thank you to my child-bride who is indeed a true companion on the Roadfood Pathway to Life ! Also deserving recognition for the excellent Photo he took that serves as my Trademark whenever I need one, is our 11th child...The Travelin' Man.

Part 2 will be forthcoming shortly according to Mark's Publishing Schedule. I hope you all will not be disappointed about my avoiding some of the classic Roadfood questions that seem to weigh heavily on many members minds.

You will not receive input as to whether the best choice is Briefs or Boxers as formal Roadfood attire.  Is toasting one's Buns a Macho behavior characteristic?  OR  Is a Smoothie that contains a raw Egg considered 'Organic'? Is it Catsup, or Ketchup? And if it is.. does it go under or on top of the Weinie relative to the Weinies position in the Bun?

Stay tuned for the next (and final) chapter in this publishing event. 

My sincere thanks to Mark for allowing me to share some of my thoughts via his forum.  There are MANY BBQ stands in Kentucky that we have not yet visited and I promise to expand our travels in that area as soon as I can !

 The photo you added is of The Travelin' Man, Young Steve from Florida. He is following a career path similar to the one I chose a generation ago, and we have talked often of the choices and opportunities he faces in that area. I took the Photo of him with a table-full of slices of pie at the Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, KY shortly after last winters Glee Club meeting in Memphis. The photo is making fun of the pursuit of "Pie" as a roadfood specialty by member BuffetBuster!

PS- There are two real Roadfood Critics in our Home.  Here they are supervising the planting of the garden.

Just the children squabbling and giving each other a hard time.  besides we ALL know TTM is the "Special" one. 
 

I believe our people refer to it as the "CHOSEN" one - not the "special" one. 

Now that we finally have pics of Demi and Duff in this thread, I put it to you dear readers, who is more photogenic, the pooches or Travelin Man?  And that isn't even the dogs best side, if you know what I am saying.....

Thats a tough call, BB...I have had the pleasure of meeting Demi and Duff so I gotta go with the pooches..

bravo mayor al, a tribute well deserved

As most of you know, Janet and I share ten (10) kids, and 23 grandkids, all from previous marriage. Add in the two Scotties and the one "Chosen" one (who leaves 'used' laundry in the guest room in the hopes it will be done before his next visit), and you see why our peaceful retirement has changed over the years !!

  I like the layout of Mark's Website. The Bourbon Trail in Kentucky is a favorite of ours for sharing with visitors from out-of-this-area!

It's good to see you get the praise you so richly deserve, Mr. Mayor. Hope to see you again soon, hopefully in Charleston.
