Pulled Pork topped with Kimchi Wed, 02/23/11 1:58 PM (permalink)
It would not be my Kimchi, I am going to find a delicious one and make it available as a topping for the pork, or as a side...the question is, who out there would like or try this?

I only had kimchi once and loved it.  With pulled pork?  Why not!

Plus, You can be googled as " Fusion BBQ "
I'm with Joe on this one, Love them both ( kimchee on saltines with canned tuna was my main staple during the turbulent early 80's  )  so why not?

I love kimchee so would love this sandwich.  The next time you go to Cosco,  you better pick up a camera!

He might find one at CostCo.  I don't know about Cosco.

Meanwhile, I give this sandwich idea thumbs down.  I ALWAYS put slaw on my pulled pork but what I like about it is the addition of the creaminess of the slaw dressing.  Kimchee has no creaminess.  Just wouldn't add anything for me.  Maybe on the side . . .

I think it's a great idea. I love kimchee and it sounds like a neat combination. My favorite that I buy at the stores here in SoCal is Cosmos. Look at their website, you may be able to order from them  or they might have someone selling it in your area.

I am forever turned off by kimchee, as the aroma of the Land of the Morning Calm still hangs on in my nostrils after 58 years.

Michael, I can understand that but somehow, it sounds good to me.

Paul, you must not have been privileged to bask in the aroma of the human waste-fertilized fields in which they would bury their crocks of kimchee to ferment.

When I was stationed in Okinawa, one of my hospital corpsmen who transferred there from some base in Korea told me that there was a base directive where he came from that no one was allowed to eat Kimchi at lunchtime because of the inevitable breath odor.

Personally, I kind of like it . . . but not on pulled pork (as I said above).
