Push Cart vs Pull Cart? Thu, 05/14/09 5:47 PM (permalink)
I obviously know the main difference between the two....one appears to be more easily movable (The push cart) and the other is not (The pull cart).  And the other obvious difference is the Pull cart is towable behind your vehicle as the push cart needs to be trailered.......other than the obvious differences - are there any other differences / pros / cons that you guys might can share with me that might help me make a decision between the two?

You need to load a push cart into a cargo van and out of it when you get to your spot.  It's a huge problem even if you have a big box truck.  Pull carts are easier to work with.

Do both pass Health Dept. rules.on top of that what do you need, require. Me want a mobile kitchen.  Hot Dog carts, ok, but what do you want.
Steam buns, don't steam buns, eye appeal. What do you require in future. I started one way within
6 mos. doing small festivals. Love this more than lunch. Will tell you Have a Top Dog Kitchen. Most think the cost over the top. Me if looking would require more than what I have. Your limits are on your Equipment. I will put a Top Dog cost investment to other so called hot dog carts and the product out come is better, the more product outcome is unreal to cost. Looked never satisfied, have PUNKED  my cart to say. Me,at my age.
Will keep striving for whatever. Have a porshe, want a masarati, have a Kia , want a fiat, never satisfied. Wear a Kilt, UNDIES OR NOT. At my age hope the wind blows.

Cheap up start to festivals. 10x20 Ez-up fully screened ,take one panel to a commercial embroder, have a panel with zipper installed, less than 60.00, meats HD guidelines, get a good cart with a griddle, 4 sinks, two tanks 30lb, less than 8k invested, sausages scream to the masses, grill onions, grill peppers, watch the bottom costs. No big stuff. Make out like the pirates. Cheap and up my alley. At this point can do Brats, hamburgers, and other raw meats. Add a boom box, sons idea, works. Can and have done this with omelets in the morning for the crowds, WITH COFFEE,my thoughts. Rethink , what can your cart do for you. Batteries, generators, income to you.
Hot Dogs, slow or no go income.
Pursue the income, never made $695 in a day, from dogs. Biggest farse have ever seen.
           My thoughts  SAVE YOUR MONIES
Bunk and most know it. Small one day stuff out sells anything they throw at you. Can do 1400 sausages and 385 Dogs off my  cart in two days, with griddled onions, peppers, can you. Not on equip you seek. plan ahead.
Build your own, not what the outcome can bring, polycarb cooler infront of a heat source. a disaster waiting to happen. The Fumes, The Fumes.  Think- learn

OK, help me out....this is twice I see an entry on here saying something about a "polycarb cooler in front of a heat source".  Did I miss that somewhere?  Where are you guys seeing/reading that?  I'm from Missouri - show me!

OH, and CURBY - sometimes I wonder if you write like you talk - because on more than one occasion your entry's are so disjointed in the way you write things.  Do you read what you write before you click the submit button?  I realize this is about food and NOT an english class - but I think you probably have A TON of good knowledge to pass on - but if we can't understand what you're trying to say...then it does none of us any good.  (make sense?)

Cajun man if you see a cart  with a cooler next to a heat source run, don't buy. Have seen three this week, that people wanted to sell me. I don't care who makes these run.

I was thinking about having a welder make an area for a small grill on one of my units. I did not like how the blue prints looked. There are different ways to get what you want. Buying a superman dog cart and paying $13,000...compared to buying a used cart for $3,000 and have editions put on it..grill, storage space etc..Just my opinion on economical ways to save a few dollars and still be able to bang out those big numbers at the end of the day.
