Wow, this could be a Rooney segment, people who work too many years and die within weeks of retirement. Although in his case, there wasn't much work involved with his job.

I loved his segments, simplistic but hilarously brilliant.
I'd buy a CD of "The Best of Andy Rooney"

Our newspaper today said he went into the hospital with an unnamed illness and never recovered. I have a feeling that he planned the end of his life, knowing he had only a short time to live, and worked up until the very last. If only we all could do as well. He was a great man, and will be remembered.

I always liked his perspective on the various things he brought up. I'll certainly miss him.
