I grew up with the original Mouseketeers, Annette was just a little older than me. I have MS also so it really hits home.

    :(

I had the privilege of meeting Annette about ten years ago when her husband brought her in to my store.  It was an effort for her, but she made sure she talked with me.

Her husband treated her like the angel she was.

I also grew up with her.  I cried when they left.

    RIP, Annette

I first heard the news on tonights evening news. I feel like I lost (another) old friend.  We were the same age and I grew up with the M M Club and especially The Adventures of Spin and Marty serial within that program. I never got into the Beach Movies... but those early MM Club programs were a daily "must do" for me.
RIP Annette, You will be missed here also.

    That's awesome!  What store?

I, too, was one of the many who admired her and am very sad to hear this news.  It's also sad that she had such a poor quality of life for so many years.   Now she is free from that.

Speaking of Annette, I've always loved this note-for-note re-creation of Annette's foray into Rocking and Rolling wih the Beach Boys. It's pretty amazing.

I absolutely loved that she revisited her hit "Jamaica Ska" in the 1987 movie "Back to the Beach", backed by manic funk band Fishbone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r_77q0BnVs

    O.K., here's the truth ...

In 1955 - 56 when I was 7 - 8 watching her at 12 - 13 I was absolutely fascinated by those little bumps in her sweater.  That was the only reason I watched that show.  (For some reason unknown to me, Jimmy gave me the "creeps").

During that time my Dad gave me the 'birds & bees' chat; I don't know if that was due to Annette or my insistence on going to see "Bus Stop" and "The Seven Year Itch" at the movies.

    Thank you, Annette.
Rest in the Peace our Lord promises His believers.
