I was sad when I heard about His passing, My mom loves to eat there.

It is always clean and comfortable. I know it is not "roadfood", but it can be better than 99% of the FF places.

Thank You Bob Evans!

PS I love your sausage.

I spoke with Jewell today, and she said Bob was feisty to the end. I hadn't seen either of them since last November, just before Thanksgiving, and all he wanted to talk about was the upcoming gun season for deer. Bob didn't hunt deer this past season, but he was still bugging people for some "extra" venison. He was a crotchety son of a bitch, which I guess is why we got along. That, and the fact that he insisted my wife was too good for me, which astrue, of course, and provided him with something else to give me a hard time about.

Mr Hoffman, I'm sorry for your loss of a friend, but I had to smile to myself at your description of why you two got along. You really are a very lovable curmedgeon. And while I do not say that under duress, it still is difficult at times to like you. It's kind of an 'in spite of myself' kind of liking.

Thank you. Bob Evans was a friend. Although I've eaten at a number of Bob Evans restaurants, I knew him because of his connection with conservation and natural resources matters.

I do, however, need to point out that while I may be many things, lovable is not one of them. I strongly recommend that you not try to like me at all. You could hurt your back that way.

            Hoffmudgeon?

Yeah, he was a good guy. He'd never even get angry when I complained about his biscuits.

I was fond of Mr. Evans"s places for breakfast when I lived in Ohio. I am sorry to hear of his passing.

So sorry to learn of Bob Evans' passing and I know he will be missed, but his many restaurants will remain a wonderful tribute to him. We do love breakfast at Bob Evans and utilize their carryout service often. In fact, we simply refer to them as "Bob's" and we know what is meant. The food is always good, the places are always clean and attractive, and service is quite good also. He did a good job of everything he attempted.

                Rest in Peace, Mr. Evans.

I hope that Brother Bob Evans, 33rd Degree, had a HUGE Masonic funeral.
