I was never much of an AB fan but admired him for his courageous comeback after he suffered that debilitating stroke a number of years ago.

One thing that was notable about him in $x,000 Pyramid: he really seemed to enjoy the game, and that made the show more enjoyable. Bart

Remember running home after school to watch AB in Black & White on an oval shaped screen, complete with snow!

I wasn't an AB fan either, now that era of music is all I really care to listen to. 50's & early 60s rock, rockabilly, doo-wop, that kinda stuff. RIP Dick, you'll be missed.

When my parents moved our family to Pennsylvania, before I was born, my sisters watched American Bandstand every afternoon. When we moved to NJ(I was 8 months and the youngest of 5) they taught all their new friends how to dance to the newest rock & roll songs! I grew up watching AB every Saturday afternoon. As long as it didn't interfere with Creature Features! It wasn't easy to get my horror fix in those days! RIP Dick(AKA Dorian Gray).
