His name was spelled "Oscar Mayer". I have no idea why they changed the name of the company. Also, reports say that contrary to his final wish, he was not made into an Oscar Meyer Wiener.

Boiardi was also re-named Boyardee so that it didn't sound too foreign to Americans. Lot's of names have been changed to fit the American mold. Just the way it was or is. David O.

bartl His name was spelled "Oscar Mayer". As was the name of the company, and that spelling is still correct today. Brad
