What a useless elitist forum that became. Write an essay indeed.

Just an FYI for the next time you plan to s-hit on someone just after they die, saying nothing is always an option.

Oh come on. If you had taken a poll and asked which people would be most likely to piss on someone's grave when they die, these two would be the landslide winners.

The other founder Jason Perlow wrote a nice piece about Shaw even though they had differences.

Originally you didn't need to be accepted, so you malcontents were late to the party.  Yes, eGullet did alter course but if you want a sense of what it was like, many of those who left went here.

The death knell for eGullet was when they began trying to block the forum members from meeting off-line.

I'm only speaking of my personal experience, and I have no idea exactly who "accepted" me into their forums. The forum as a whole was elitist. I have no idea about the individual who passed away.

Yes, what goes around does come around.

Right.  Because he had an elitist forum, he deserved to die.

Who said anything disparaging him? I was a member before it became a non profit plaything. Probably still am but I never look at the site. Compare it to LTH forum, which is a wonderful site. Or look at how Road food has devolved.

I remember seeing him on one of Rick Sebak's A Hot Dog Show episodes.  Might have been the original one.

I'll bet his 'elitist" members aren't shi*ing" on him.

I dont think anyone was crapping on a corpse - the issue (as I read the posts in question) was with the policies of EGullet, which the man co-founded, not with the man himself.

Aditionally, according to Perlow's blog entry, the man wasn't even associated with eGullet anymore at the time of his death

All of what you wrote is true. However, decorum would normally dictate that one not use another's death to defecate on that which said individual has built.

And I deleted all of my posts, and would appreciate it if the individual who quoted me would do the same.
