Rally's/Checkers Hamburgers

Feel free to post your experince about one of these two restaurants. And I want to no, why did all the restaurants disappear so fast. As i said in the chains going downhill forums, most of the Rally's in detroit closed down within a year and the ones that remained open took up the name checkers.

I understand they plan to keep the little dog named "Checkers," but you will know longer have Rallys to kick around anymore.

In the Louisville area we have a number of Rally's and they seem to be doing just fine. I use one of the charity-promoting "two-fer" coupon books and it has most of the various FF places in it with multiple coupons. Rally's has(had) 5 coupons in the booklet..and we have used them all. Rally-Burgers seem to do well with us. Whereas the BK and Wendy's coupons are still all in the book. McDonald's offers a free FF with the purchase of a sandwich...not enough of a bonus to get me into the Arches!

A Rally's just opened close to where I live. I have not tried it yet. I've heard they have good lemonade.

We've got a couple Checkers in Milwaukee. I'd driven by them for years before finally stopping last summer. Now I'm kicking myself for overlooking them all these years. The burger meat is avergage but the combinations of toppings places the sandwiches above those of MacD and BK. The seasoned fries are quite good. AND THEY HAVE BANANA SHAKES! Also, the "2 for $4" deals make the chain very affordable. And I love the double drive-up lines. Bring a passenger as the service window on the left side of the building usually has a much smaller line.

We have those in Knoxville, TN. I love the service and the double drive up lane. I have only done them once and I was pleased with the product and service. Fries were hot and burger was fresh and as I ordered. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

I still hit Rally's occasionally, its as good or better than the BIG NAME ff palaces, ranked below Hardees, Wendy's and Krystals but above McD, BK and whattabooger. My youngest daughter stops a couple times a week for a bananna shake. The only drawaback to the 2 lanes is if the shortest lane happens to be the left one and your alone in the car, the needed acrobatics is beyond my bulks ability

Rally's is growing by leaps and bounds here in Indianapolis. Rick's thoughts? Burgers are great. Fries suck beyond belief.

I know the Checkers fries were greasy, coated curly types that always looked overdone. I think they still abound in Florida. There were 2 of them within 6 miles of my house back there.

Our nearest Rally's is in Florence Ky, bout 30 minute drive. last time I went through there I got sick after eating there so I wont go back to that one. The Rally's in Madison, Indiana has always been good, and has been awarded the top Rally's in the country 3 times in 6 years. Their Double BBQ bacon cheese burger is awesome, two beef patties 2 slices of cheese, bbq sauce and friend onion rings. Their seasoned fries are always good, fresh and hot. I love their fried apple pies too.

CK We have a Rally's in Jeff, Clarksville, and New Albany. All three do a good job on the Bacon burgers and the Seasoned Fries. Some of the drive-thru lanes are a bit tight fit for my Ford truck (Mirrors)!

Do they still serve their sausage sandwiches? Those were pretty good, but not great.

But the way they look.. Every Checkers I have been to, they look the same. Sometimes when in need of a fix, I would just drive in just to get some fries. I would love some now.

I love Rally's and especially the fries. The ones in Toledo seem to be doing just fine. I've had Checkers when I was in Florida and of course it was great because of the fries.

For Fast Food, I have always enjoyed Rally's, but it seems like, around here, at least, they seem to operate in some pretty sketchy neighborhoods.
