Its hard to beat, a place near my home. Real fried potatoes( I hate hash browns) the thickest bacon I have ever eaten, and just plain old good.
There is a buffet but you know how buffets get.
You almost need a reservation Sunday morning.
Its been there since the 60's, the Blue Flame, Pittsburgh.

Hey Greg,

What was the name of the place that was across 51 from the Flame, back in the 60s-70s? I worked there for 3 days, hated it. The name began with a D; Demitri's, maybe?

I spent many, many late nights/early mornings at the Blue Flame during my wasted youth.

Brownstone Diner in Jersey City, New Jersey. Fantastic pancakes with a warm and friendly environment.

Tanks Bar & Grill in Dayton, OH. Everything that I have had is fantastic especially the "Girlie Omelettes" which are 5 eggs, wait until you see the regular size. Service can be kind of slow so don't be in a hurry but it's well worth the effort.

While not necessarily roadfood I feel compelled to mention my favorite Breakfast in Dayton and the surrounding area. Parker's Blue Ash Grill in Blue Ash, OH. Fantastic breakfast buffet with so many delicious items and a wonderful dessert table taht trumps anybody elses. It is definitely on the more expensive side but it comes with a free mimosa, bloody mary, or champagne.

Ridgway's, Orangeburg and Oakdale, Modesto, CA. They make the best hash browns I've ever had, and the waitresses are the kind who call you "hon" and generally don't have to write down your order. It's about 5 miles east of Highway 99 but worth the trip.

Mountain Shadows Restaurant in Colorado Springs, CO. 2600 hundred block of W. Colorado Ave. Best pancakes!

The Dutch Mill also on  W. Colorado Ave. About the 700 block. Best greasy spoon!

The Kentucky Hot Brown at Phantom Canyon Brewery on The corner of Pike's Peak and Cascade. Also the best Bloody Mary!

Twin Wheels Cafe in Wickenburg, AZ great service and old west atmosphere!

@Country Cafe foods are good with breakfast being their specialty with a cozy ambience and warm feel to the place. New location, now is so much nicer and brighter than the original Lamb location.

The best chicken fried steak I ever ate was at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Hurricane Mills, TN.

Actually the Mayor turned me on to this place in the Ontarior, CA area.  Farmer Boys was very very good.

Outstanding burgers, onion rings and zuchinni spears also.  I had breakfast and dinner there.  Thanks Al

My favorite all time breakfast is at Harvest Cafe and Bakery in Simsbury, CT.  GREAT pancakes and omelettes.  Creative breakfast dishes as well as lunch.
