Recent KFC debacle

My wife inexplicably loves KFC, she stopped at our local oneTuesday night and got a 8 piece bucket, it was over $13.00, yikes! Anyhow she gets it home opens it and it looked like a Robin had been used instead of a chicken, and that it had been fried and refried a couple of times. I called the Taco Bell/ KFC, talked to the manager and he said "well we don't sell much Chicken here", I said no wonder, this stuff is crap, he asked me what I wanted him to do, so I said replace it, he said ok, so we ended up with 2 buckets of crap. How do they stay in business?? My wife no longer will go to a KFC.

The KFC that we go to is spotless with a really nice looking dining area.  Any time that we have picked up chicken there, it has been delicious.

I was in N. Carolina recently and ordered wings from a chain named Bojangles.Twice the size of KFC and better tasting. Used to love KFC, but their chicken has gotten so much smaller. Why bother?

Me and my husband had KFC 4 months or so ago, we had the 3 piece chrispy strip meals ...the strips were pathetically small! I was shocked, and sent the company an email! They appologized, and said their employees are told that if the pieces are small, to add more to it.They sent us coupons for 2 more meals free. Went back................same thing! It will be a LONG time until we go back there! I would rather pay high prices and get a decent meal, that semi high prices and pitiful amounts of food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are in the same stand alone building and have the same employees and ordering system, I believe they are owned by the same Company, both serve nasty food IMHO!

I see there are a few Pollo Campero places in MD but not on the eastern shore; ever try one?  I prefer them to KFC.  Isn't the Delmarva area where most chicken for the east comes from?  You'd think it would be a specialty for the area; my guess is crab reigns supreme.  I googled KFC for your area and see there is one on Kent Island. I'd be damned if I'd go to Kent Island and buy KFC.

The Chicken at Pollo Campero is great but they are severely lacking in the sides.

KFC is getting way too expensive for bad food.

No red beans and rice at my Campero.

They do have fried Yucca but the dipping sauce isn't good.

I love the red beans and rice at Popeye's.

Back in the ' 60s and ' 70s, I used to really love KFC ( back when it actually tasted good. ) Not anymore, though. As with McDonald's and Burger King, I have watched a once-beloved FF chain go swirling right down the ol' flusher. Chicken, cole slaw, gravy; everything there is just a shadow of it's former self. And the biscuits! Gawd, they are AWFUL - the worst of any FF chain. Why can't they make a decent ( or better yet, good ) biscuit. Biscuitville down in North Carolina makes a damn fine biscuit, and they're a FF chain just like KFC, so what's the Colonel's problem? There are so many other FF chicken chains that are better than KFC. Brown's here in Chicagoland, Popeye's and Church's nationally, Bojangle's and Lee's Famous Recipe down south - there's no good reason to bother with KFC anymore.

.........I used to love everything at Popeye's but they have gone downhill bigtime, at least the one I used to frequent...at Eastgate in Cincinnati...they skimp on things .. the red beans and rice is mostly rice now with little bean paste and pretty tasteless ... it is a darn shame..

Man, I hate it when that happens. What is the matter with these dumba** chains ? Don't the unit managers and corporate officials realize how much competition they have for consumers' dollars, and how fickle ( and picky ) people can be when it comes to eating out? It's almost as though some of these chains have a " death-wish " of sorts. Maybe the employees would just rather collect unemployment benefits!

In my list of KFC alternatives, I left out one that I really like. Harold's in Chicago. Very good fried chicken IMO. Just about all of their locations are in the inner city, though; very little representation out here in the suburbs.

I have found the KFC's in the Louisville area are a lot more "Miss" than "Hit". That surprises me since the YUM Headquarters is here. A couple of the stands on this side of the River (Indiana side) are pretty consistently good, but many seem to be very spotty in their quality control.

We have three Popeyes and a BoJangles  in the area also and I usually will pass the KFC's to get to a Popeyes..especially the one next door to the source of my Sonic Cherry-Limeades!!

I use to love KFC "spicy extra crispy". Anyone ever had that. They stopped making it in the early 90's.

Another questio, KFC has some great hot sauce, in those little packs... anyone know who makes it? . It's kinda like Louisiana hot sauce but it has an extra kick. I would like to keep it on hand at my house.

And yes, KFC has gone way down hill in the last 15 years. :~(

May have been a Yum brand a couple decades ago, but they should seriously consider changing their corporate name to YUK brands..

I have watched with amazement the price of KFC chicken absolutely skyrocketing over the last 2 or 3 years.  Price has went way, way up and quality has went way, way down.  The Colonel has to be rolling over in his grave.  A once great product has been absolutely ruined.  Can't imagine them staying in business for long.

I used to believe that Bojangles was the best fried-chicken chain.  Even their cole slaw was great.  Unfortunately, they left South Florida about twenty years ago.  Now, Popeye's is my first choice.  I haven't bothered with KFC in about 25 years.

The prices at my local KFC are outrageous --- it's a brand new and clean restaurant, but it never seems to have many people eating inside or going through the drive thru.  And yes, they've started skimping on everything.
