Recipe for Bob's Big Boy Chili?

Hi All, first post here so please be gentle.. I was raised on Bob's Big Boy spaghetti and chili, and I'm trying to find a recipe that approximates (or duplicates) the chili. I live too far from Burbank now to make it down to Bob's. Thanks in advance, Jeff

Yes, unfortunately. I'm living up near Santa Cruz now.

JeffG Yes, unfortunately. I'm living up near Santa Cruz now. You won't drive 130 miles for something you really love?

Wish I had the time and money. Actually I wish I still lived down there, but that's another story. I discovered Bob's is now a franchise operation, so I'm sure they use a foodservice branded chili. I just need to find out which brand it is. I sent an email to their corporate HQ and hopefully they'll respond.

Big Boy operates their own commissary in Warren, Michigan. It is almost impossible to procure these in-house manufactured items. You may want to look around this web site; many people have posted their own chili recipes.

David, thanks for that info. If they're like everyone else they probably guard their recipes like nuclear bomb secrets. I see Big Boy salad dressings at my local markets, maybe they sell their chili somewhere as well.

Fresno had a couple Bob's Big Boys 11 years ago when I lived there. About a 2 hour drive for you. IF they are still open.

You would be surprised to find a lot of chili recipes in the Chili forum, mine included. All worthy of trying to find the one you like best. David O.
