If yer gonna have a heart attack in WV, Morgantown is the place to do it.
Ruby Memorial and Mon Gen. are both excellent hospitals that do all the latest procedures, etc.
My father-in-law is a Harvard MD and has gone there for his own numerous heart surgeries.

I have talked with Red numerous times and I have been concerned with her health since her first event that I was aware of a while back.

It is ironic that she is acquainted with a good friend of mine who did his residency in Morgantown.

As most of us know, heart problems can be resolved even though they are serious. Our vice president has had four heart attacks and keeps an extremely vigorous schedule and I am sure that Red can do the same. Although these interruptions can screw up your schedule, diet and attitude, I am sure that Red can make the best of this and totally recover.

My guess is that Red will have to lay off the crab cakes and other blood sludge and will be a salad person for a while.

Logged on for the first time since Friday morning and was shocked to see this but glad to see that things sound promising. Good wishes Red, you have plenty of people pulling for you!

As of 3:30 p.m., Red was back in her room and groggy following a cardiac catheterization.

She is in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, Room 1065

The hospital has a service that allows e-mail get-well cards to be delivered to patients. Here's the URL:

My thoughts and prayers are still with you, Janeen. Just got home from hospital myself after ten days, including another cath and installation of defibrillator, so I'm truly empathizing with you today. I feel as if I know you, as does everyone else in this forum. Hang in there and get well quickly.

Here's the latest on Red: They found blockages when they did the cardiac catheterization, including one of her eight stents that had collapsed. They replaced that, and added a few more. She's doing nicely, sounds good, misses everyone, and just might be getting out of the hospital tomorrow. She's reportedly chasing docs all over the place, and that's likely the reason they're going to send her home.

And will you be close enough to catch them when they come shooting back up?

That's what used to happen to me whenever I tried to eat them. I love raw clams, but I cannot handle raw oysters. Love them fried, baked, etc., but I cannot get them to stay down raw.
