Remember "Weiner King"?

Do any of you remember the Weiner King chain? It's long gone from here (the one in Lexington, KY), that is. We used to stop there after school in High School in the early 80's and we called it "P***s Palace". You can fill in the blanks! It wasn't bad, especially the chili dogs with onions. The best place in Lexington for hot dogs is a place called "Sam's" that's downtown. Here in Versailles we have nothing for hot dogs unless you want to count Dairy Queen or what you get at Super America. For us, we make 'em at home on the grill with the Boar's Head frankfurters and toasted buns. Andrea

Yes I remember Weiner King. The franchise was popular in the late 70's early 80's. There was one in my hometown Rock Hill S.C. just south of the Weiner King, headquarters located in Charlotte N.C. about fifteen minutes away. The franchise was owned by the popular TV star from The Andy Griffith Show and Happy day's Ron Howard. My dad and I were just talking about this subject which peeked my interest. Are there any Weiner King's still open? If so, where are they located?
