Renting out my hot dog cart

Hey guys- Im a fellow hot dogger and have picked up a new job that pays a little more and is a little less work ie. monthly sales tax filing, ordering, keeping up with health dept, etc. Anyway I was wondering what anyone knew about renting out a hot dog cart. I know in bigger cities there are companies/ individuals who rent out carts for the day/ week. I was toying with the idea in order to keep making money off the cart rather than straight up selling it. I love the biz and may want to go back to it sometime so dont want to unload the cart. I just wasnt sure what to charge and how to charge..monthly/ weekly? Anyone have any ideas I would really appreciate the time. Thanks a lot!

I would make sure to get enough deposit to cover neglect/damages. Also Im sure youre insured, but would you be covered if you leased it? I mean theft, etc. Its summertime now. A lot of high schools offer culinary programs these days. Contact them and they might have some students looking for just such an option. They could prescreen for you knowing their work habits, etc from class. Pay them on a % basis. You might make a lot more than a lease, Also if it works well you might be able to expand. just a thought. I would have jumped on the chance when I was a kid instead of making $1.85/hr cooking at Mr Steak. britt
