Restaurant Review - Whitey's Fish Camp Mon, 11/15/10 12:47 PM (permalink)
Looking at the picture of the fish on the reveiw of Whitey's Fish Camp  brings me to a point that could be considered a food argument.
In the south( at least in my travels) the coating of choice on deep fried foods seems to be a cornmeal coating.
In the north, more often than not, it is a flour batter or beer batter.
I love deep fried seafood but find the cornmeal coating dry, at least to my tastes. Those pictures of Whitey's Fish camp demonstrate what I mean, although the writer says they have a creamy moist interior.  To me, it looks like many a dry seafood plate I have gagged down in the south.
I do believe the north does it better.
