Restaurants of long ago on Long Island

Is there anyone who remembers any of these restaurants on Long Island?

McCluskey's-Bellmore
Link's Log Cabin-Centreport
Geide's Inn-Centreport
The Mooring-Cold Spring Harbor
Tavern on the Plaza-Locust Valley
Cutty Sark-Rocky Point

These were great restaurants, and still missed.

Welcome to the Roadfood forums Lautrec! I see this is your first post, but I decided to move it into this new forum category because it wasn't "Roadfood News." No worries though, it takes a little while to figure out how these forums work.

Welcome, there was a thread on Long Island places already. And it too started in the 'News Forum' and it hasn't been moved. You can find it here

Today I drove past where the Moorings, Links and Geide's were. You can also add Al Dowd's to this list.

Of course I remember McCluskey's. I grew up in Merrick, one town away. Unfortunately I never ate there. When I recently drove by, I see it turned into a Crapplebees. What a shame

I remember tasty reasonably priced tasty steaks, generous drinks and sometimes long waits at McCluskey's.

Anybody remember Bronco Charlies on the old Montauk Highway in Oakdale or the old Nathan's in Oceanside?

I occasionally pass by Bronco Charlie's. It was mentioned on the other thread that people are trying to save the building. I remember going to Nathan's for Hot Dogs and Hot Cars. Also a night for bikers…

I remember going to Link's when I was much younger. It was back when going out to eat was a treat. Geide's Inn was more recent. My girlfriend (now my wife) went there when we were still dating. It then became a mexican restaurant and now I think it is closed. The Mooring was another place from my childhood. Remember Joe's King Neptune across the street from the Mooring? How about Joe Dee's or Charlie's Inferno in Oyster Bay? This Website is really taking me back!
