Think I'll make a rhubarb pie's that time of year.

    Ended up making a rhubarb custard pie.   And in a nod to reducing calories and sugar (the recipe called for 2 cups of sugar)...made it with mostly Splenda.  Good stuff.
    Unfortunately, it was gone before I could get any pics!

      I haven't had rhubarb pie for probably 40 years. I do remember kind of liking it but was expecting it to taste a little different then it did. I would definitely try it again.

          rhubarb is just lovely.
          i make a beverage of cranberry, diced rhubarb, and some sugar, cook until the fruits is limp, strain and refrigerate, garnish with orange, lime or lemon slices. Quite refreshing.

            I have a Amish family that has been doing my landscaping for about 15 years.  They use rhubard for medicinal purposes besides pie although they enjoy strawberry-rhubarb pie.  They use rhubarb for medicinal purposes such as laxatives, stain removal and many other purposes.  They are very hard working folks and they make my place weed free, beautiful blooms and all my trees and shrubs look very nice.

              I buy rhubarb from Amish friends for $1 a pound, forty pounds at a time, from May thru the first frost of the fall.  It freezes well and can be used year round.
