Ricobene's in Chicago

I just got back from a Ricobene's lunch. First time I've eaten there in 15 years, I'd guess, and the fried steak sandwich is as good as ever. I ordered the regular size, rather than the larger original, and found that I could have eaten more. Next time, it'll be the original size for me. My dad had hot peppers on his, while I chose sweet. The place has certainly changed in the last decade or two. I remember it being simply a storefront with some stools and a counter. Now it's a large restaurant with two rooms and a multitude of tables. Though the atmosphere is no longer vintage Roadfood, the food still is. Great fries, too, by the way.

Ricobene's is indeed worth a trip. I prefer the chicken parmesan sandwich. You know the place has to be good by the number of cops that eat there.
