We were driving thru Elberta heading to Pensacola around noon and saw this restaraunt sign. There were a good number of cars here so we took a chance despite the sign. WOW. Home cooked food heaven. We had gial limas, great home cooked rolls, Fried Chicken, Corn, Mashed potatos, green beans, Fresh cooked cake for desert and a home made coleslaw I had never had before that was GREAT. I guess it had just a touch of fresh onion in it. The decor was all Crimson Tide, but the service was top notch even if we were LSU fans. Then to top it off we got to draw poker chips from a bag to see if our meals were free. One of our four wasn't bad!! Ice cream machine to boot. Really enjoyed the family atmosphere. If you are down near Gulf Shores or Orange beach or heading to Foley, it might be worth the drive for lunch.

(Target rich Geocache area as well for you cachers

Considering the name of the establishment, are you sure that the fried "chicken" that you ate was really chicken?

    Was it unusually flat?
Were there tire marks visible anywhere on the "chicken"?
Did it taste anything like squirrel?

There was a guy, Michael Kaufman, cooking a pot of road kill BBQ stew on "Sunday Morning" news show, at a post office somewhere in ? Kansas I think? Was funny! There is a road kill menu somewhere in anouther thread. Where was that, hmmm?

The fine writer, John McPhee, in his "Travels in Georgia" has a whole lot to say about sharing meals of roadkill with his Georgian hosts.

        Cheers, John
