Road Trip starting in NYC

Hi Everyone,
I want to do a road trip that starts in NYC and takes in as many different styles as foods as possible.
I'll only have about 3 or 4 weeks.
Which route is best to take?

Welcome to Roadfood, sarahjanelou! Where will your trip be ending? What states/cities are you planning on checking out? Are you going to be heading south, west?
