Roadfood Dreams

I know theres' another thread about dreams, but this is specifically about Roadfood dreams. It's very rare I remember by dreams, and I rarely dream about food, and or Roadfood in fact it seems that the only dreams I remember are the bizarre ones. Well, this dream wasn't quite so bizarre and was quite vivid. Early Friday Morning I dreamt that I was at Stroud's in Kansas City with Buffetbuster and the Travelin Man. I'm pretty sure it was the Oak Ridge Manor location. We concluded our meal and the check arrived- it was for $500 (I know I didn't eat that much food so it must have been them) Buffetbuster and Travelin man excused themselves from the table, never to return and left me with the bill. I went outside to pay (in the dream the cashier was located in a booth outside the restaurant) and tried to explain that my dining companions blew me off and left me with the bill and I really didn't owe all thats on the bill, and then the dream ended. So anyone else have any bizarre Roadfood dreams?

That's NOT bizarre !! That is a clear case of "What' goes around, Comes around"!! or ??? I have had a dream or two, but they seldom include any of the RF gang ! And I would never admit to anyone the content or participants, even if they do resemble certain RF folks !!

If the Travelin Man was with you in those dreams, I'm surprised Stroud's wasn't closed!

LOLOL quijote. I had an anxiety dream a couple weeks back about finding a good place to take Buffetbuster. I wonder specifically who's had a dream that involved Buffetbuster.

As due The owner's of the 'Plush Pippen" and "Frontier Pies" out West, and the Homemade Pie and Ice Cream Shoppes in the Louisville area ! I think they are dreaming of a way to 'Comp' him now and then to keep his gaggle of RF followers coming in !!

I once had a dream where I was driving and hit and killed a racoon. Wait...that's a ROADKILL dream. Ooops....wrong thread. As for stiffing WJ with the check, I would like to point out that Cliff and I probably tipped the server because we knew that cheap bastard wouldn't do it!

I had a dream I was eating at the eminently roadfood-worthy La Palma Chicken Pie Shop in Anaheim, with my parents. It was definitely a dream because they've been dead for a decade and a half, and I never dined there with them. But I know they would have enjoyed it.

That explains the rotting racoon carcass I've had to walk by these last few days on my nightly strolls.

So let me get this straight Stroud's I get....no problem there. but You could have been having dinner with one (or several) of the world's most beautiful women or some of the great historical figures - Churchill, Edison, Gallileo, Socrates, to name but a few or getting stock tips from the likes of Ben Bernanke, Alan Greenspan, or Warren Buffet or (over cinnamon rolls) asked Jimma Hoffa and/or Judge Crater and/or Amelia Earhart - so what the hell happened to you, anyway? or had a chat with great religious figures from your faith of choice - Noah, King Solomon, Moses, any of the prophets (is fried chicken kosher?) but you chose Buffetbuster and TravelingMan?

Believe me, I have no idea how "Frick and Frack" managed to step into my subconsciousness. I know I've had the upcoming Buffalo trip on my mind and the absurd gluttony that will be apart of that weekend and I've dined with those two characters at Strouds before and for obvious reason, I always associate Strouds with "absurd gluttony"

Let's boil this all down. A middle aged male fantasizes about two similarly-aged males he met on the internets AND in a backwoods setting defining of the term "food porn." wanderingjew, while you may hear lilting harps as the soundtrack to your dream, the rest of us hear this.

Oh Nancy, please tell me you are just joking. Anything you pick, I'm sure will be most enjoyable! As for WJ's dream, the three of us did dine at Stroud's together just last summer. And I did leave early, since I had a plane to catch. Surely, I threw down money to cover my part of the check. What happened after that, I can't be held responsible for!

What happened after that is obvious. I took your cash and ditched Dale. And, on the way out, I said, "chicken dinners for everyone...put it on the Yankee fan's tab!" I thought I told you about that.

I had a dream poolboy and the goddess floated thru. Seemed to involve duck filled dates.

My food dreams are always the same..I"m at some fabulous bakery or chocolate shop, and all the really good looking items are just out of reach.. or they dissappear as I grab for them...and when I go to pay for them my pockets are always empty.. OR worse yet, when I have them in my hands, they are rotten...

I almost never remember my dreams, but when I do, it is always really bizarre, nonsensical stuff. Last Saturday night, I dreamt Stephen Rushmore told me that on next year's Roadfood bus tour, we will be visiting a restaurant that you have to parachute into. And on the same night, I dreamt CajunKing and I were planning a bank robbery. What is that all about?

Was it perhaps a pie bank you were planning to rob?

Hmmmm, That gives me the idea for an activity for the next Glee Club Meeting. How about a "Hands behind the back Pie-Eating Contest"?? I can think of some nice whipped cream topped chocolate or coconut cream pies being devoured by our Varsity Pie-Eaters, with the cheering multitudes "egging them on"!!! Photo records could stay on the front page here for a very long time !

It's happened. Last night I dreamed that I was driving a truck. It wasn't working and Mayor Al helped me by looking up something that was in the book in the glove compartment. This all happened on a toll road right before the place where you have to pay. Not only do I not have a truck, there are no toll roads around here. I have no idea where that dream came from!

Al, that's a great idea for a Glee Club activity, and I would happily participate. Not a chance that I'd win though... if it involves pie, Cliff automatically wins.

Marlene I was stuck one time on the O C Toll road that cuts off of the 91 to get to Laguna. The toll machines only took the dollar coins and there was a paper-to-coin changing machine that could change 'ones' and 'fives' and nothing larger. No Humans for miles...Smallest I had was a twenty. I finally ran the toll-stop and figured I would get a CHP Ticket in the mail. Never did, but I avoided the SoCal Toll System after that. Tolls are rare except in Orange County, although there is talk of building a fast-trak lane from Cajon Pass out to Vegas and using toll money to maintain it! OH, BTW, The book we searched in the glove compartment of your truck ( in the dream) was the Stern's volume titled "Places to eat in SoCal where Wandering Jew won't show up !"

hahahahaaaa I've never taken that OC Toll Road. It doesn't make sense to me. I did make a U-Turn on the St Vicent Bridge in the late 60's before they installed the middle fence. I had no money for that toll. The car I drive today would never make it in one turn. Thanks for the help, by the way. On that bridge I think they removed the toll.
