Roadfood in Western Central Pennsylvania?

We are planning a short trip to the Altoona - Johnstown - Bedford area of Pennsylvania via. the turnpike. We know all of the familiar Roadfood stops in the Philadelphia, Lancaster, and Pittsburgh areas of the home state - but what about western-central Pa. - any ideas?

Two Penn State traditions at University Park---about 20 miles from 80.

First, Ye Olde College Diner is known for their sticky buns (they seemed like standard sticky buns to me). It's a BIG breakfast ritual before Nittany Lion Football.

Also, the Creamery is run by the University's Agricultural Department and makes really good ice cream with a wide variety of flavors---expect long lines.

Aren't the sticky buns remarkable because they grill them? I think that their specialty is thus called "grilled stickey"

Yeah, I guess that's why. We grill pastries often in Pennsylvania---so maybe I'm accustomed to them.

We are looking to spend the night in or near St. Mary's Pennsylvania on our way home for the holidays .... There looks to be an interesting place there known as Rose's Hilltop Diner. Any opinions? Or other suggestions?
