Can roadfood insider dues be paid other than through pay-pal?

I was getting so much traffic under the pay pal name that seemed to be phishing that I chose not to update my credit card information with them. Consequently, my renewal payment didn't go through (I assume that the 6/21/06 showing under my name on posts now is the date my membership was cancelled).

I would like to remain an insider member, primarily to support the Roadfood effort, but I'm reluctant to stay with pay-pal since I do very little on line purchasing and am concerned about the level of risk.

I am sorry I don't have an answer to your question, and Stephen, who would probably best answer your question, is away for a few days. Those phishing attempts will continue regardless. I get them at e-mail addresses in no way tied to a pay-pal account. I also get e-mails from banks asking me to verify my account info despite the fact I don't have an account there. I think they just send such junk to everyone in the hope they may hit on someone who DOES have such an account.

What I am trying to say is that the phishing isn't a problem with security on pay-pal. I have had a little used account with them for years, and have never had a problem.

    Sorry I don't have a better answer.

I've received a couple of them PayPal phishing attempts to my primary email account. (I have PayPal set up on a secondary account, where only a couple of companies know that address). I have tons of fun with them, entering false info left and right.. They want to go phishing, I'll bait the hook, but not let them get a taste!

        Vic:

Even if you use a proxy your ISP is known. I would either delete the spam or report same. I mostly just delete same now and also bounce to sender. They will get tired after a while; believe me.
