Yeah--it said the new version will come out on April 12th. I ordered it anyway. I've waited this long, I can wait a bit longer. That grilled cheese on the cover looks SO yummy!

On a site dedicated to independent, Mom & Pop operations, everyone's ordering their Roadfood books from Amazon?

Amazon was started as very much a mom and pop operation. I would much rather see them purchased through Amazon (through which a link is povided on this web site, so I am guessing the owners approve) than through the abominable Wal Mart. Ugh!

I put my order in for 2 of the new edition (extra going to a friend), plus the Loveless book a couple of nights ago. (Yay Bushie, you're great!!!!) Mr. Stern, y'all should offer signed copies at a premium. With all the people who are members here, I believe it would be worth your while in extra revenue.

Terrific day!!! I sat eating a double Steakburger w/ cheese lunch at my nearby Steak N Shake today after stopping to get my copy of the new Roadfood. I don't know which was more enjoyable the juicy, crispy-edged, topped just right, messy burger, or the fantasies I was having as I leafed through the book for the first time imagining that I was sampling all the wonderful places and food items described therein. Oh heaven!!! QFan Bonita Springs, FL

My copy just arrived in the last five minutes! I can hardly wait to sit down and read it from cover to cover. I will love not having to wade through writings on Burger King, McDonald's and Applebee's.

Will you sign mine, too, Al? Willya? huh? huh? How 'bout if I show you a magical time warp of a soda fountain that I had lunch at today? It opened in 1927, and I think the most recent change was about 1954, when they got some new Coca-Cola napkin dispensers.

I just checked Amazon, and they didn't ship my copy today. I thought maybe it was Roadfood that was holding up my order, but it must be another book...hmmmm...Walking and Eating in Tuscany and Umbria?

As one who would treasure an autographed copy of the new "Roadfood", I'd like to suggest that the Stern's make an address available where we could send books to be signed (return postage included). Or that the Stern's autograph books for us and sell them directly to us (I think that's allowed). Or that the Stern's set up a day and place as they travel around the country where Roadfooders can meet with them to get autographed books. cheers, john

I'm surprised (shocked really) that Pierce's Pitt Barbeque in Williamsburg, VA didn't make the book in the new edition. It's in the Eat Your Way Across the USA book by the Sterns and it truly is the "real deal" where good que is concerned. QFan Bonita Springs, FL

It was fine, but I would never drive out of my way to go there. We will stop there for lunch when we do go again at the end of May. I understand that their sweet potato stix are great so I will make sure and order them.
