This thread is the official voting booth for TWO future forums moderators at Roadfood.com. We have had a number of requests over the past few weeks regarding the position and some very excited candidates. If you are a candidate please post the following. 1. Describe why you want the position. 2. What qualifications do you have that will add value to the site? If you are a voter - Simply input your top TWO candidates you are voting for. The voting booths will close on July 23rd at 9AM EDT. Any non-voting or non-candidate posts will be deleted.

BTW. It was stated in another thread that AL was given temporary moderator permissions on the site to control the recent SPAM issues while I am MIA. He is not an automatic winner in the moderator selection.

To quote that famous of all roadfooders, Abe Lincoln, or was it FDR, or Elvis, who said" Don't change horses in the middle of the war/stream/etc. I have an interest in keeping this forum a fun place to share thoughts and ideas. I cast one vote for MYSELF and 1 vote for the lady from the great state of Maryland--- MEOWZART NOTE- I have changed my previous vote from Bushie to Meowzart as a result of Bushie's courageous concession speech listed below.

Al-The-Mayor and Bushie. It's a landslide! Due to Bushie dropping out of the race, I respectfully change my vote to Al-The-Mayor and Meowzart

Mister Mayor's our candidate. In our minds he's really great. Knows all 'bout that great Roadfood. Man, he'll be a moderate dude. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Is Bushie running? I think he said in a post in the "Last Meal" section that he was going away for awhile. He'll get back and discover he's been made Forums Moderator!! As I can see from the posts above, my jumping in the election is probably futile, but here goes anyway: maybe I can be the chief undersecretary... 1) I want the position because I would love the opportunity to put my love of food to work in concrete way. I love the forums, and gosh darn it...I love you guys too! 2) As a trained fair exhibit judge of food arts, I think that would transfer over to being able to judge food posts. As a judge we are trained to be supportive of entries, yet demanding of quality. I think this would be put to use here on the boards. I want to be supportive of the posts that are relevant to the site and to the forums topics, yet be demanding enough to keep things in order. Thank you for your support! Meowzart BTW...I vote for Mr. Mayor and Me. (Sounds like a new fall sitcom, doesn't it?)

Might as well vote for someone who wants the job....Al and Meowzart it is! BTW, I see The Mayor had to give up his coveted double cheeseburger status for the term "moderator". Thats ok Mayor, we all know what you have achieved!

Wow. This comes as a complete, and very pleasant, surprise. Meozart is correct; due to the amount of projects I need to complete before leaving on my trip, I had intended to curtail ALL my "net surfin' ", including posts to Roadfood, for a brief period of time. Mr. Mayor informed me this morning that a vote was taking place, and after seeing my name as a "write-in", I had to give this some thought. While I am more than willing to help out in any way I can, I think it would be best to elect someone who has expressed a real desire in the position. I could handle it, and it would be fun, but maybe it's something we could consider for the future. Therefore, let this serve as a formal "bowing out". However, please realize that I TRULY appreciate the thoughts and confidence expressed above. CheeseWit had previously expressed a desire to be moderator, and I believe he would be excellent. If he were to throw his hat in again, it would make my choice tougher. For now, my vote goes to The Mayor and Meowzart. Has kind of a nice ring to it, anyway. Thank you all again. (And, I'm REALLY leaving this time! )

Bushie, I know you're getting ready for your trip. I'm disappointed that you don't want the position at this time. But I understand. In fact, that's exactly how I feel about the position. Thanks for thinking of me, but I'll give my votes to M&M (The Mayor and Meowzart). Enjoy your trip, I'll talk to ya' soon. Be good. Peace.

A vote for Mr. Mayor and for Meowzart. I will have to add, however, that I'm really sorry that your current schedule/situations is such, Bushie, that you are not available to now fill one of the positions.

I would like to nominate Sundancer 7 (aka Paul E. Smith) who on the basis of a double cheeseburger's worth of postings has clearly established himself (along with the Mayor) as the most highly qualified and worthy of potential candidates.

Though not much of a Yankees fan, I will cast my stones for the "M&M Boys" (Mayor and Meow). Also, Mr Paul Smith would make an excellent moderator and if he were elected, I would be equally pleased. Best regards, Steve
