Where should we all meet up ? Wintzell's in Guntersville or the old Greenbrier ? We're wide open to suggestions folks !

 PP, I saw that after posting, late at night for me.  Now we have to decide 'wear two meat up'.  I was thinking Saturday breakfast and lunch, or just a great lunch spot.  Any suggestions?

My vote is for Wintzell's for lunch. I can do breakfast also, but don't have any suggestions.

Folks , how 'bout the Blue Plate Cafe in Huntsville for breakfast ? It's gotten great reviews for country cookin' !

Glad to hear that a meet and greet will be here in Huntsville. I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

I have eaten at the Blue Plate Cafe and it is pretty good.

Definitely the old Greenbrier for bbq. Their white sauce is to die for and so are their hushpuppies.
We have a great German restaurant and don't forget about Dreamland and their ribs.

Guntersville is a good 40 minute ride or so from Huntsville and is over Monte Sano Mountain.

Gibsons's - not to be confused with Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur (25 minutes drive from Huntsville) has a great breakfast.

My new favorite place for burgers is Dallas Mill Deli which to me has one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. They don't serve any fried foods (as of yet) but do have wonderful desserts (I am partial to their Strawberry Prezel dessert). They serve deli style sandwiches, chips and also sell meat and cheese by the pound.

I'll start adding some more ideas and places later.

Good stuff.  Of all the times I've been to Huntsville I've only eaten out there just a few.

Pete, you never cease to crack me up!  I really wish we could dip down into Alabama to join all of you, but we'll be RFing through Jasper and Banff Nat'l Parks on that day.  Hopefully we'll find some RF that will come close to the incredible BBQ that you all will be feasting on!    Chris

Please allow me to interject a message from Poverty Pete, who hopefully will have internet service shortly in Nashville. He said to remind everyone he is definitily planning to participate in the Huntsville Meeting. If things go right he will be back on line sometime next week.

Now, from me... Susan, I missed your post about the Elvis Wedding Chapel info. However I will be proud to share the story with you that Janet and I were married in 1995 at the "Little White Wedding Chapel" (the one seen often in the Vegas Video-stories due to it's famous Drive-up Wedding Window Service) We did not use the Drive-thru, but chose an outdoor fountain/patio area and paid the $40 fee without rancor! If we had budgeted a bit more ($85) we could have used the services of an Elvis costumed 'Minister'....and if we had really gone all-out we could have had the service done in a Helicopter (Janet and I and our two witnesses) flying over the strip with the Elvis-clad Minister doing the service in the air. (all videoed for later viewing) Cost for that was $265 (plus tip for the Pilot and Minister).

We tended towards the minimum expense for that weekend, so our ceremony was adequate, but not 'Holywoodish' !!!

We are meeting at the Blue Plate July 25 at 11:00.  After that, who knows????

BTW- They offered a $5 discount for couples at the Drive-Thru on a motorcycle!  We keep that in mind when each of our kids discusses wedding costs with us !

Sorry that Janet and I cannot attend the Huntsville meeting. However PP has promised to represent us !
