You might want to give this place a shot. http://thelmaschickenandwaffles.biz/ Thelma's Chicken and Waffles Decent fried chicken, really good corn pudding, forgettable lima beans, oh and make sure that the corn bread is ready and available before you order. For dessert- 5 different varieties of pound cake.

Gotta have ahot dog at The Roanoke Hot Dog Stand downtown Roanoke. Downtown Roanoke has several good eateries as well.

There may be some good ides for you in a trip report I did earlier in the year. If you are going to Lynchburg for Moore's Country Store, I strongly recommend Woodruff's Cafe & Pie Shop in nearby Monroe.
