Moores country store in Lynchburg for lunch, overnight in Roanoke suggestions for dinner besides roanoker? We are highbrow and lowbrow folks..

    Thelma's Chicken and Waffles
    Decent fried chicken, really good corn pudding, forgettable lima beans, oh and make sure that  the corn bread is ready and available  before you order. For dessert- 5 different varieties of pound cake.

      Gotta have ahot dog at The Roanoke Hot Dog Stand downtown Roanoke.  Downtown Roanoke has several good eateries as well.

                In Catawba, try The Homeplace. A Family Style farmhouse open Thur-Sun.


                The Texas Tavern is a must. You could even hit TT and Roanoke Weiner Stand back to back. Don't eat too much at either.

                  There may be some good ides for you in a trip report I did earlier in the year.  If you are going to Lynchburg for Moore's Country Store, I strongly recommend Woodruff's Cafe & Pie Shop in nearby Monroe.
